I believe in faith and obedience.
Jesus' words are powerful and his words did not get nullified.
The 'not of works' Paul was speaking about is the purification works of the law.
Hello
According to the verse below, we can not be saved by our obedience, we are saved only according to his purpose and grace.
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own
purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 2 Timothy 1:9
Even if the purification works of the law were removed, the law still demanded righteousness.
Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching
the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. Philippians 3:6
That the
righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:4
We are not saved by our own righteousness
And be found in him,
not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: Philippians 3:9
Even if the purification works of the law are removed we are still left with our sin.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8
