Decided to have a go at making my own "refried beans" this morning (old el paso style, and not really fried)

And surprisingly - it turned out really well. Spices used were onion powder, roughly half of that amount in garlic powder, salt, chili, cumin seed powder mixed into water and used to boil some (pre-soaked) pinto beans, which I then mashed in a blender and boiled most of the water off.

So, rice, "refried beans", cabbage and bit of oil this morning for breakfast. Delicious.

I think I could survive in Mexico at least insofar as food goes.

That was a good suggestion. I actually took you up on that for dinner :) Then my tummy was hungry later and I had cereal.

I'm having some homemade beer.

+homemade bread

In the form of toast.

With homemade spices, from (partially) homegrown veggies: Leek, tomato, spring onion

and salt.

And working on a video, which I have been hammering away at for numerous hours now.

Cooking chicken drumsticks, potatoes, carrots, and mushrooms in vegetable stock with some chilli and a little seasoning. I hope to add some sour cream when it is cooked. I'll pretend it is Stroganoff ... I could add some pasta to it too. God willing.

Not so much "eating", but enjoying a refreshing bottle of water :) My body must have been screaming for it. That's something I need to pay more attention to is how much water I'm drinking. I've been more deliberate about it lately, though. Something I've been trying is that for every coffee I drink (hot or iced), I'll have a glass of water with it.

Brunch this morning/early afternoon consisted of wholewheat toast topped with olive oil and various seasonings, lightly toasted lentil scramble that was mixed with onion and garlic powders, and some turnip cubes I gently sauteed in a bit of oil. And lettuce.
