Vegan patty is homemade. A mixture of Pepitas, rolled oats, soaked lentils, potato starch, bread crumbs - blended down and mixed with spices - then cooked to browned on the sides.
+ fresh onion, tomato, salt and lettuce.
This was an experiment (the patty). I'm pleased with the overall result and am also pleased I have found a way to regularly incorporate pumpkin seeds (pepitas) into my diet. They are fabulous.
^^ lentils and oats, while not tasteless, are fairly mild in taste so the taste of your veggie burger is going to depend largely on the spices you use.
Egg is used in a lot of vegetarian burgers as a binder but I didn't need it with the ingredients I used...they stayed their shape even after cooked and didn't crumble.
Has anyone had rolled ice cream? I had that yesterday for the second time and it was good. Not as good as the creamy ice cream that the Amish make though.
A little while a ago I had some long grain rice, olive oil, salt, pepper, fresh cabbage, half an avocado, sriracha sauce + 2 cut up vegan patties mentioned in post #143 mixed in.
Shredded potato, cooked in caramelized onion and mushroom, with fresh sprouted/malted barley. Add salt and brown rice oil and pepper.
The barley was originally intended for a starch conversion experiment (sprouted barley contains large amounts of enzyme amylase used to break down starches into simple sugars). However, I left the malting process for a little too long and by what I understand have left the peak period for conversion. So, they have been added to breakfast. Perhaps I'll plant some later today.
