Not here I wish they were, most people anymore have to work rather than rest. Doesnt surprise me at all but it is still sad. I wish that people were resting on the sabbeth and meditating on Gods word

Thank you for your kind words. It really shows what you are.

The word of God says that what comes out of your mouth is what is inside your heart. (Paraphrasing)

With what you said, that you meant that Rome means Constantine, and also that you meant the Roman Catholic Church.

These three things are totally different concepts and it reflects that you are the one that has problems with the English language.

Rome is a city.

The RCC is a religious group centered in the Vatican City. Is not a city.

Constantine the Great is a person, a human being. Not a city, not a religious affiliation.

Have you at older calendars?

The first day printed on the left side is Sunday (Name pays homage to the Sun). The last one on the right is Saturday (The name pays homage to Saturn)

Jewish people still celebrate on the last day of the week, day seven, called the Sabbath so as to no pay respect to any other gods. Sabbath is the day of rest when God, our creator, rested from His work of Creation.

Now His son, Jesus, rested from His work of Redemption on the Sabbath day, the last day of the week - not the first.

People go to church on Sunday. The problem is that they do not know the truth. They have deceived by the enemy of God. They react like faithful sheep's and follow the leader without checking the word themselves. They buy anything is thrown their way. They DO NOT KNOW Jesus.

Where is Jesus now?
Not here on earth.

But there is a book that represents Him. If you want to know him. You could do the following:

1. Read the book
2. Study it
3. Understand it
4. Do what it tells you to do

Those are the basics.

You have started a friendship.

GOOD LUCK WITH IT

God's Church is the Body of Christ. As well as the church for the sinful. Not the healthy. As it says so in the Bible. Plus we need to fellowship with other believers!

And that is the sum proof for sunday argument.

No it's not the sum of holy scripture's teaching about the Sabbath and the First Day (the Lord's day), it is the answer to the set of questions asked by amadeois.

The Lord's Day is not Sunday.

Just the name of it is pagan and pays Homage to the Sun, NOT THE SON.

The Sun was created by God.

If you believe on Sunday, you are worshiping the creation and not the Creator

The Sabbath is the seventh day, is the day of rest and it's name pays HOMAGE to God.

Why? The Sabbath day is reminding us of His work of Creation and is Him who created ALL things and rested on the seventh day.

HE HAS THE POWER AND HE SAID IT IN THE 10 COMMANDMENTS

ARE WE FOLLOWING THEM????

The Lord's Day is not Sunday.

Yes, the Lord's day is Sunday - that is, the first day of the week.

Just the name of it is pagan and pays Homage to the Sun, NOT THE SON.

Saturday, the day that Sabbath pushers say ought to be kept is named after Saturn the pagan god of the underworld in the Roman pantheon.

The Sun was created by God.

If you believe on Sunday, you are worshiping the creation and not the Creator

Nobody that I know "believes on" Sunday. It's a day not God. Everybody that I know understands that days are created by God.

No, you're not following the ten commandments. Nobody is. That is the lesson of the Law. The law is a tutor to lead one to Christ. The Law has no power to forgive sins. The Law adds to sin by giving a knowledge of sins and the guilt/consequences that belong to sins. Grace is what the new covenant is about. Grace by which one is saved and faith through which one is saved. The ten commandments are not going to plead your case before God. For that you need an advocate. The advocate that the faithful have is Jesus Christ.

Yes. Is your question being asked because you did not read #69?

Brother, I tried.

My advice to you. Read the word of God several times. The 4 gospels telling the story of what happened that week.

Pay attention to the details.
What is the meaning of each Greek word. That was the original language. Translations have errors.

I HOPE YOU GET TO KNOW THE TRUE JESUS.

Is not about reading 2, or 5, or 68.

IS ABOUT READING THE WORD AND UNDERSTANDING IT.

THAT'S THE FINAL GOAL.

Here I am, on a fine and sunny Wednesday morning sipping my morning tea and reading posts and what do I see? amadeois asking me if I read his post (#68) and then complaining when I pointed out that not only was it read by me but it was also replied to by me in post #69 and then he jumps to another subject with a claim that I ought to read the bible implying that he thinks I haven't. Come on amadeois your fellow Christian CH members deserve better than that. You ought not to imply that I (or anybody else) hasn't read their bible sufficiently and that you have. That's such a shoddy way to reply.

Your first post, the first post in this thread is intended to be evidence against Sunday. You gave this thread a misleading name. It is dishonest to call it The arguments for Sunday when it is in fact The arguments against Sunday.

Nothing misleading about it. I was never for Sunday, and thus presenting an opportunity for those who are to present their case was my intention.

First the colored glasses must come off. Then scripture needs to be seen in its natural Jewish setting..but that one is too hard to imagine. It would take our Jewish Messiah working on the heart, to convert the soul before that happens. When the colored glasses come off, then all the rest will make sense.

Jesus was a Hebrew from the tribe of Judah.

He went to His temple on the Sabbath day and read the scriptures from the ancient scrolls.

I believe christianity does not know much about the old sacred books.

After Jesus died, Christianity separated itself from the hebrews. John was not too happy with the top brass and called them judaios or something like that in a not so friendly manner.

Those judaios were the high priesthood from the family of Aaron. The ones that were threatened by Jesus in the pocket book. The ones that pressed Pilate to get rid of Him.

God in the flesh and the ones with the power don't like His ideas.

Jesus died and went to His Kingdom when cristiano was just beginning to be formed. Things got changed.

But He is coming back to fix things.

ok before it was flippant .. but now it's a serious question.. -is english not your first language ?

constantine instituted many things to do with a mix of pagan practice and christian practice into a state religion..it started the process which is now the rcc, which is situated in rome.
abbreviating all that into the term "rome " is called generalizing ..

You can't meditate the whole saturday on God's Word. When I was single I could do that, or when I was married without kids. Jesus couldn't even do it. He did it at night on a mountain. What if the harvest comes in?
