How would God respond to Stephen Fry?

What happens to those who refuse to worship Him? Why? According to what objective criteria did they deserve to die? What reason is it behind the rule that disobedience has death as a consequence? I can't think of a single such reason other than the fact that God made the rules this way. Is this...

How would God respond to Stephen Fry?

I don't understand how someone who is able to stop bad from happening, but doesn't, and then requires worship in exchange for salvation from the bad he allowed to happen, can be characterized as loving and merciful for having acted this way. According to the definition of love, the well-being...

How would God respond to Stephen Fry?

God didn't create sin, but He created a reality in which sin (or its consequences) is genetically transmissible and in which a being's sin affects other beings. Could He have created a reality in which sin was not transmissible and didn't affect anyone other than the being who sins?

How would God respond to Stephen Fry?

Why do you need those things? I mean, I'm trying to understand the logic. Why would an omnipotent God, Who is able to stop all the demons from having interaction with humans, requires people to beg Him in large numbers and a certain amount of intensity in order to help them. Why do people need...

How would God respond to Stephen Fry?

Why? Why are we linked to one another in that way? Why can't we all start out a clean slate and be given the very same opportunities that Adam and Eve were given in the beginning? Why do we inherit our parents' DNA? Why do we inherit our ancestors' sins? Why do the actions of some affect others...

Is there anything that would cause you to leave Christianity?

I don't know if I understand your answer. One can leave Christianity without becoming an atheist or agnostic or even a deist. One can leave Christianity and still acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah. What do you mean by "having a Savior or forgiveness of sins"? Muslims and Jews ask for the...

How would God respond to Stephen Fry?

Who made the rule that inbreeding would result in illness? You talk about this as if it was an intrinsic aspect of reality that God had no control over. God created that rule. God created our genetic code and all the rules related to it. There is virtually no rational reason I can imagine why...

How would God respond to Stephen Fry?

So why aren't you a full-time missionary healer, traveling the world and visiting every hospital you come across, healing thousands of people everyday?

How would God respond to Stephen Fry?

I hope that's not true because if it is, then, ironically, it will only prove Fry's point, namely that God is an unreasonable dictator.

How would God respond to Stephen Fry?

I don't understand your line of reasoning. Why would a dog who gives his life to save his human be better than God? The dog has no consciousness. He doesn't know what death is, nor that he will die. You don't have to be good to create something good. Plenty of people give their lives to save...

How would God respond to Stephen Fry?

What's so special about rabbits and dogs who save humans from house fire? We still don't understand neuropsychology well enough to know why some people are friendlier than others. I tend to thing that it's a mixture of genetics and life experiences. God doesn't have to be a moral monster. He...

Is there anything that would cause you to leave Christianity?

What do you mean by "to leave Christianity"? Do you mean "to lose your faith"/"to stop believing that Christianity is true"?

How would God respond to Stephen Fry?

Asked what he would say to God if it turned out that He existed, atheist Stephen Fry had this to say: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/WTQG-cHGNHA I invite you to imagine what God could possibly reply to Fry. 😐

    Not my job!

Use discernment. Help with what you can help, go the extra mile, stay overtime if your schedule gets messed up by the extra-tasks etc. Always put others before yourself.

    Not my job!

Being righteous can have negative consequences in this fallen world. I think we all know that. But should that deter us from doing the right thing?

"It never hurts to help" -- Eek the cat. Basically, unless you can't accomplish the task because of health problems (case in which you politely inform her about it), you should always do your best to help others with random tasks.

    Who is your favorite artist?

If I can only choose one, I'd have to go with Roy Lichtenstein. This man revolutionized art to such a degree I can't even fully comprehend. And I'm pretty sure he didn't comprehend it either.
