Step aside when someone takes a photo?

Never happened to me so far, so I don't really know how I'd react. My principles tell me that it would be appropriate to step aside, but there's a chance my brain would just not process the situation immediately and I wouldn't know what to do.

If someone treated you to dinner at a fine French restaurant,

I would never eat at a restaurant that doesn't list the prices. I'd be out as soon as I saw the menu. There's no excuse for not listing the prices.

Thoughts on punishment for those who abuse animals?

You can love cats and call yourself a "cat lover", but if you feed your cats meat bought from the store, which you know is created by killing other animals, you are not an animal lover. You are a "cat lover", "dog lover" and whatever other animal species you choose to love "lover", but not an...

Thoughts on punishment for those who abuse animals?

The fact that some animals are easier to raise as pets than others shouldn't automatically make the ones that are not easier to raise as pets eligible to be used as food. People who call themselves "animal lovers" shouldn't raise carnivorous animals. And there are some arbitrary laws that make...

Thoughts on punishment for those who abuse animals?

Why do the animals that are not fit for companionship must be used as food for those that are fit? It's absurd to call yourself an "animal lover" and choose as companionship animals carnivorous species that require other animals' flesh as nourishment. If you only care about the wellbeing of...

Thoughts on punishment for those who abuse animals?

Any self-proclaimed "animal lover" should be a vegan, otherwise they are a hypocrite. The fact that they randomly choose which animals are for eating and what animals are for companionship seems like a pretty absurd concept to me. Whenever I try to argue with my relatives about the absurdity of...

Same. I never understood how rain sounds can help other people fall asleep. There are entire audio libraries with rain sounds that people play in their bedroom to fall asleep. It's strange how different people react differently to the same audio stimuli.

With masks being optional almost everywhere,

Nah, I haven't seen people wearing masks around here on the street or in stores. Only at the doctor's office I've seen some folks wearing them. Some doctors I've been to wore a mask. Others didn't.

    Pilate’s regret

Why is it needed? It seems counterproductive. Requiring faith from creatures whose entire downfall was caused by misplaced faith seems irrational. What would make sense would be for God to require knowledge and obedience to Him after He revealed everything to us clearly. That would actually make...

    Pilate’s regret

Why is faith a prerequisite for God's help though? If Earth is under the influence of the father of lies, faith should be the last thing required from humans by God. He should know that satan can deceive people into believing all sort of lies. It was faith in satan's word that made Eve sin in...

    Xavier

I've seen him around. He also used to post on Twitter, but then his account disappeared for some reason. Some of his stuff is witty, but I think that he is highly overrated. People on humor websites repost him like he's some sort of comedy god, which I don't think he is.

Are you interested in the latest longevity research?

There is a lot of research being done in the field of geriatrics with the purpose of finding ways to prolong lifespan. So far, several supplements, such as Rapamycin, Metformin, Calcium AKG, Fisetin, Resveratrol and NADH have been proven to increase lifespan in mice. If you search for books on...

Twitter to be rebranded as X

In a rather erratic series of events, Twitter is halfway through being rebranded as X. Musk's domain x.com now leads to Twitter, and the Twitter logo was replaced with an "X". However, the twitter.com domain still works, so the entire thing seems like a mess. What do you think? Is this some...
