    Ecclesiasticals VS Canonical

The many I have read sure (as I read them!) I then like to read the quotes in the LXX to get the full context, anyway im done feeding you today.

    Ecclesiasticals VS Canonical

The source is in the VOLUMES and I gave you all the means necessary but I WILL not jot down EVERY SINGLE CITATION for YOU. I have read enough quotes, God knows how many, to convince me its pretty much near that number.

    Ecclesiasticals VS Canonical

The 300+ might include the apocrypha plus the LXX in general, both which are in error right? Let me get back with you in a few years about this Edit: No just from the Apocrypha

    Ecclesiasticals VS Canonical

David Bercot, or you can count the quotes from that website I showed you, or you can take a copy of the "apocrypha" and compare it to every quote from the Ante Nicene fathers and put a check mark next to every quote from the "Apocrypha" and then add those up. You add the more recent discovery...

    Ecclesiasticals VS Canonical

I am sure you read that whole website in just a few minutes. Anyway help yourself, go watch David Bercots videos on the (Apocrypha:Fact vs Myth) if you want to hear someones voice say "300+ quotes". I never claimed that the volumes actually say the line "300+ quotes", that wouldn't make sense...

    Ecclesiasticals VS Canonical

This Catholic apologists' video on Rufinus was made after I posted my understanding of his canonical list (in the thread where you fist introduced me to his work) and actually came up with the exact understanding I had, I found that delightful. The second video is on Origins homilies on psalms...

    Ecclesiasticals VS Canonical

David Bercot provides many quotes in his lectures on the volumes but here is a 3700 hour project done by someone on the internet https://practicalapologetics.blogspot.com/2013/07/early-church-fathers-on-apocrypha.html and here you can fact check https://www.sacred-texts.com/chr/ecf/index.htm

Contrary?? Prove it, there are over 300 quotes from 1rst 2nd and 3rd Christians that beg the differ

If the prophecies in Daniel 8 cannot be understood without Maccabees, then doesn’t that prove Maccabees belongs in the Bible?

What makes you so sure that 100% of 33AD Christians used your protestant canon?

If the prophecies in Daniel 8 cannot be understood without Maccabees, then doesn’t that prove Maccabees belongs in the Bible?

Technically Jesus wasn't named Emmanuel so technically Jesus isn't really the Messiah. Technically "Jesus" is not named anywhere in prophecy so technically he may not be the Messiah even though he did everything prophesized. these are the same techniques unbelieving Jews use to discredit...

    Ecclesiasticals VS Canonical

It mattered before when user Origen posted Rufinus' canonical list in another thread to disprove me, but now that it backfired this is the classic double standard reaction I expected

If the prophecies in Daniel 8 cannot be understood without Maccabees, then doesn’t that prove Maccabees belongs in the Bible?

And the consensus today hasn't gotten much better, do you believe Christ started His church off without any scriptural tradition or that the Apostles left not instructions as to what and what is not Scripture? I honestly can't even ponder the possibility that the LXX came by happenstance, but...

If the prophecies in Daniel 8 cannot be understood without Maccabees, then doesn’t that prove Maccabees belongs in the Bible?

Wrong. ALL Christians accepted those books just as much as we for certain accept Genesis. In fact ALL that I read from the early Church fathers AGREE with Rufinus by citing those books he mentioned as "fountains from the mouth of God" You are almost there buddy, Nathan and I will accept that...

If the prophecies in Daniel 8 cannot be understood without Maccabees, then doesn’t that prove Maccabees belongs in the Bible?

Again you have indeed proven my point, Ecclesiastical books are not the Apocrypha but ARE of the SO CALLED "Apocrypha"!! Thank you thank you! The books of Maccabees are confirmed Holy Scripture and are NOT apocrypha (as protestants claim)
  18. Andrew

If the prophecies in Daniel 8 cannot be understood without Maccabees, then doesn’t that prove Maccabees belongs in the Bible?

Yeah I agree, and he listed none of the "other writings" did he? He does name the Ecclesiastical books and states for a second time that they are not for confirmation of doctrine (meaning not canon), the two NT books he mentions are certainly of no great interest since we have all unanimously as...

If the prophecies in Daniel 8 cannot be understood without Maccabees, then doesn’t that prove Maccabees belongs in the Bible?

Maybe this will help clear up the confusion Apocrypha (forbidden in Church) - The Acts of St. Peter, The Acts of Bartholomew, The Acts of St. Thomas, The Gospel of Thomas, The Apocalypse of Peter, The Gospel of Philip, The Gospel of Judas, The Wisdom of Jesus, The Gospel of Truth etc.. Not...
