    Justification

From what I'm reading (maybe a bit simplistically) the Catholic church would see "sanctification" as an extension of "justification", rather than a separate act/idea in itself (referencing '1989')? Also, I would agree with Justification being the "gracious action of God which frees us from sin...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Had a few minutes before I needed to get ready this morning. I'm going to see family for Easter weekend. So I'm on here and listening to the upstairs neighbor's cat scratching at the basement door that separates the suite. I wish I could let him in :)

    Romans 5:12-21

    Seconded. Stick to the topic.

    Romans 5:12-21

Informative. Thank you. :) Btw, let's keep responses to the topic at hand (Romans 5:12-21 with explanation) as opposed to a continuation of a closed thread. Thanks!

Credobaptists - What about those with disabilities and baptism?

The same place as the one that says "Baptism now admits you into our assembly (after your testimony, of course) - there's coffee in the foyer afterward". While we celebrate the baptism of anyone, and all love coffee (most of us), God is not impotent in baptism.

    Biblical concept of original sin

    Back. On. Topic. Please.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

    Thinking of starting a new thread - the "Yuh-huh! - Nuh-uh!" thread. :p :D

    Biblical concept of original sin

But it does help in understanding. Btw, the Catechism of the Catholic Church is not a "commentary"

    Biblical concept of original sin

All I'm saying is that the conclusion that "Jesus died because he was executed - killed - by other people" paints half a picture. It is filled in for us by your own submission of the theological conclusions in CCC 598 that it was not merely the act of "other people" (i.e. the Jews), which...

    Biblical concept of original sin

It would seem you and Josiah both have a point.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Work day at the on-call job later today. Yay! :)

    Biblical concept of original sin

I understand the purpose of the thread, and my responses have been (in the beginning) toward that end. Recent responses have been toward some objections raised by others related to the OP. I think I'm on course. Besides, I so rarely pop my head in to these discussions. :)

    Biblical concept of original sin

You can do better than that. These are clear exceptions. God, being who he is, can (and did) apparently spare Enoch and Elijah a physical death. Christ, being sinless, experienced physical death but triumphed over it, or else he is not who he says he is.

    Biblical concept of original sin

All die as a result of sin. It's not the cause. Quit conflating the two and you'll be fine.

    Biblical concept of original sin

Infants wouldn't die because of "their own" sin, but "Sin" - singular. The wages of Sin is death; unless it can be shown that this is merely a spiritual death.

What are you eating? - Part 2

Pork chop and steamed veggies - but the chop was freezer burned. Soooo... steamed veggies.

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

Supporting evidence? Oh no, don't bring supporting evidence into this! :D

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Watching an item on a Facebook bidding page. 5 minutes left! Edit - the "online timer" was a half second behind. Missed the bid. :/

    Bridge Collapse

I'd just seen a video, looked to be from a dash-cam - of the collapse. very tragic events. I wonder about the decision to perform testing on the bridge and allowing traffic to flow underneath.

    Biblical concept of original sin

I'm not sure we can infer the wickedness of the human heart as pointing to original/inherited sin, but to man's inclination toward it. Original sin must point to an origin (hence the word "original")
