Genesis story of creation "Days" literal or not?

I wouldn't necessarily say irrelevant. The Hebrews (I think) were able to draw the connection between the "days" (figurative) of God's work in creation, and their 24-hour "days". One would have to stick with only one definition for "day", however, to have them mean the same thing.

    Biblical concept of original sin

How does one reconcile Inherited (Original, if you prefer) sin with an account that is not historical/literal?

    Biblical concept of original sin

It helps to see who you are responding to first. I wondered what I'd said??? :D

    Biblical concept of original sin

Interesting points in the preceding (cut for brevity), and I suppose that would be one perspective. But, as you say below, one may have to take the concept of "original sin" out of the question for it to work. Imo, though, David was speaking of himself - although petitioning for the life of his...

    Biblical concept of original sin

Even if not, it would be interesting (to me) what you might make of them from an intellectual standpoint. I won't personally debate you on your points, if you choose to answer. While an interesting point, how does it logically flow that the statement "my sin" refers to David's son, rather than...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Three days later and i'm still getting used to them. I have to remember to look at the computer screen straight on to see properly. Before, I would droop my neck a bit. Now if I do that, it's blurry. Otherwise it's fine. Driving is pretty good, and i was able to adjust that way from the beginning.

Genesis story of creation "Days" literal or not?

And therein lies some of the problem - we are to accept evidence presented by you ("fact", I think you called it, which should cause one to question out of hand); however, consideration of other (relatively) accepted norms ("fact", as you might call it), is dismissed by you.

Suspended for "not following school instruction". Good for him.

From how I read it, Hedrick is correct. There were essentially two 'school sanctioned' choices (under the guise of supervision) - walk out and take side "A" under school supervision, or don't walk out, but gather in another common area (also under supervision), thus taking side "B". Another...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Getting used to new glasses. I can finally see again, but they're these "progressives" that blur if I'm not looking just right. Before, I could just glance to the side to see in my peripheral, now I have to turn my head for something to the side to come into focus.

Why become a Catholic if you are a Protestant?

Perhaps you can point out MC's "insistence"?

    R.I.P. Stephen Hawking

Yeah, theology, not so brilliant. If anyone hasn't seen "The Theory of Everything", I'd suggest it. It explains (not excuses, explains) a few things about that
