Without a death there is no inheritance but Jesus did die so we have recieved the inheritance. As much as you die to self is the amount that Christ recieves from you. Not really a fair trade on His part when He can't use any of it. Those who lose their souls are those who don't preserve them in Him. He is the new man which we are all part of, but He's looking for the bride as His counterpart.

i like this , iv heard it put another way also , we dont ask for "more of god " he is already all in all - rather ,we die to become less of us ..

well there's a dilemma straight away /.. with out repentance they dont get forgiven . they must change their minds and stop DOING actions they know to be sin. an action requires exertion .. that's called "works " -when we exert ourselves to do an unrighteous act that is called a work of iniquity . Jesus states he will say to those who keep doing such works , depart from me "you workers of iniquity ) Gods not fooled by a sunday prayer "ouh lord i'm sorry i did this and this and this ... "and then you go and do it again .. he is not fooled, he knows in our heart when we intend to go and do it again and again. he knows when repentance is feigned . when it is lip service .
but he also says .. if you will hear my voice and not harden your hearts, and he also says ,my sheep hear my voice and i know them and they follow me .. and it is also written if we walk in the Spirit we WILL NOT fulfil the evil desires of the flesh .. the benefit of the cross is forgiveness .. but not only forgiveness .. it is FREEDOM from sins control , the POWER to OVERCOME .

and jesus said , repentance for the forgiveness of sin is to be preached .. if people will not turn from their sin, they will not be forgiven . repentance is NOT saying sorry and then doing it again .
that's just insulting gods grace

God works in us to turn us in repentance. We can't turn without Him turning us to Him.

God works in us to have us do good works and produce fruit. Without faith He's given us and guiding us to do HIS WILL, we can't do it.

You state a lot of "we" and "I" type of statements in all of your posts. Maybe you don't realize it? Maybe you don't see that when others look at your posts they see not too many references to God and His work in you but more of what you are trying to do? This is why I am quick to always point you back to God.

so your now saying gods turn every one in opposition to their will.. why then are not all saved ? why use the word "repent ".. it means change your mind not have it changed for you .. you have a resident atheist on staff ..why is he not saved ?because he refuses to repent ,he refuses to change his mind toward god and until he does he will remain unsaved . but your saying we have free will to not repent .. but we have to free will to repent .. its self contradictory . repentance is NOT automatic .. it doesn't happen without your will. if it did there would be no need for the command to go and preach the gospel .
the thread asks the question what sin did Jesus not die for ... it is trying to entrap people into justifying unrepentant .. but there is a clear example in scriptures raised recently on other threads .

the answer to the op question is .. the sin that Ananias and his wife did ... willful sin and willful UNrepentance .. there is no longer any sacrifice for . -it is a warning to us all.
if any one is continuing to practice an activity they know darn well is sinful ( nothing ambiguous ) they maintain a lie , they do things for dishonest gain (covet) , they download movies (theft) they look at porn (adultery) etc -then they are serving sin , not the lord Jesus . -its very simple . no need to complicate it - change your minds and stop doing it. Jesus has given us the power to STOP doing it,having set us free from the power of sin and death ... if we love him ,we will get busy DOING what he tells us to do ,instead of ignoring him and DOING sin. -its all about whom you LOVE the MOST . JESUS had done his part on the cross making it fully possible for us to be new creatures in Christ . he has done it all its ALL JESUS . so why do some then slap him in the face by doing the opposite to his will.. then on a Sunday they sing him a song ???? so insulting .
you cannot accidentally do an unrighteous act and you can not accidentally do a righteous act . your implying an attempt to remove responsibility and consequence .. but god never does . he says God is not mocked what ever you sow you will reap .

turning and following the lord Jesus and doing what he tells you to do is a choice and act of will . will to obey or will myself to disobey .. it is not automated . and automated response excludes LOVE . Jesus said "if you LOVE ME you WILL do what I command you .

Our will is not inclined to turn to God unless God's grace is present. Man CAN and naturally does want to turn away from God because of the fall.

God gives faith. He actually GIVES that to you and faith comes by hearing His Word. Mankind can reject and some do. But we don't choose to have faith. John 15:16 You did not choose me but I chose you.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Don't you love all the "gift" talk that God gives to us! He gifts us from Genesis through Revelation!

He gives faith that by faithwe may obey him unto life.
Everyone has the seed of faith.. And the lost will perish in hell with it.because they refused to exercise it and obey the Gospel.

Everyone has the seed of faith..

Can you provide Scripture for proof that all of mankind has a seed of faith?

Remember Josiah's scriptural quote that we are saved by grace through faith and that it is a gift.

I remember bill posting in another thread claiming all men have faith, yet, that was disputed because the quote was in reference to BELIEVERS.

Why are you asking me to prove the premise you presented..??
you said its god who gives us faith.
Is he prone to partiality now?does he only give some people the ability believe in him. ?
If a man is told that swing bridge is safe to cross... And he has faith in what he is told..he shows hr does by his action of crossing the bridge . he is not a christian yet he displays "faith" in the words of another. So ,obviously,Every human being has faith.
Its whom we place our faith in that makes the difference.

A man can say "yes i bellieve that swing bridge is safe to cross ..ibelieve what you say." but thecproof of it is not in his words but in his action. If he doesntcross the bridge ..its just lip service. He displays his invisible faith by his action. What he does. Not only what he says.

You made a claim that God has given the seed to all men and refuse to back it up with scripture. That shows a lot to the members here at this site.

Christ died for our sins and God gives us the gift of faith to believe and have eternal life and He does so by His Word and sacraments.

Yet you claim that it is all God and dont get me wrong I believe the measure of faith is friom God but when we recieved that faith to believe we werre yet unbelievers so yes I disagree with the fact that you say it is only for believers

That is true, or there would be not conversions if it was only for believers. Because of God's gift of faith, though it be a mustard seed, itl brings people to Yeshua by faith inspired by God.

Lol ..what?it shows a lot to members?,so your motive was personal?hmmm.
Any way.as you say god gives faith...i was agreeing with you. And since he gives it ..to whom does he give it?just believers?
But thats a contradiction.if he gives it only to believers how can a non believer ever become a believer. Your own premise demands it be given to all mankind.
The term god gives the seed of faith to all is a figure of speech. It means he puts in every person the ability to have faith. Or as you put it..gives the gift.

And so it remains useless in us if we do not exercise it
It is like the man with one talant..who went and hid it ...

Apart from God's Word would one receive faith?

Of course God gives faith to the unbelieving so that they may believe (by His Word), but when one claims that all have the seed of faith, prove it. That's not personal. This is a Christian message board and we back up claims with scriptural proof, not what some guy on the internet claims.

Bill, you were using Romans 12:3 to claim that God has given all of mankind faith. What I was telling you is that in Romans, Paul was telling the believers he was writing to that they were all given a measure of faith and they were, correct? We cannot believe without first being given a measure of faith. But to claim that all of mankind already has a measure of faith, please provide scripture, both you and Alithis since that is what you both claim. Faith comes by the Word of God. How can they believe if they've not heard?

Bill and Althis both have misunderstood. I did not say that God gives believers faith only. I was referring to Romans 12 that bill attempted to use to claim that all of mankind already has been given faith and was pointing out to him that Paul was talking TO believers and reminding them about the measure of faith they were given. Of course God gives unbelievers faith in order to believe, but to claim that ALL of mankind already has been given faith, they need to back that claim up with scripture. To state such a claim is saying all of mankind is saved since we're saved by grace through faith.

You have said before that faith is God's work but I only agree that initial faith is given to believe. Faith is something that endures in believing the unseen and produces seeing that which is believed.

Belief in Jesus in Cana and at the rising of Lazereth John 2:11, John 11:45 produced the same results of belief as the defeat of the Egyptians Psalm 106:12 but in this case their faith's growth or endurance was minimal and resulted in leanness in their soul Psalm 106:13-15 which is shown to be our example of those with faith that didn't endure 1 Corinthians 10:6

Moses however did endure "as seeing him who is invisible." The Corinthians were admonished "10:23 “All things are lawful,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up. 24 Do not seek your own advantage, but that of the other" So we can see endurance as toward God and neighbour."" Self-centered living like those in the wilderness can't produce more faith but only lean times.

All of the examples above depended upon circumstances to believe because to the world "seeing is believing" Seeing the unseen is God's mode of building faith. His faith says "Psalm 27:13 I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living." (Some MSS insert include unless I believe)

Sending leanness to the soul is the action of God to those who believe but don't follow thru.

So imo faith is initially given in order to believe, and not to everyone, simply because those who don't believe cannot possibly have been given faith to believe if they don't. OtOh if they ALL have been given the faith to believe but rejected what they had seen with their own eyes then there are surely none who do not stand guilty.
