interesting .. but one things DOES matter very much ... not what we did in our ignorance .,god is gracious , but
what we do once we know the truth .. matters very much indeed .
but without getting all heavy on the topic i think the main reason people won't disregard dec25th once they are brought to the realization that it's got nothing to do with the birth of christ -is the social cost they may have to pay . its just easier to go with the crowd and please men ....
hmm and i said i wouldn't get heavy lol .. not sure if i know how to not get heavy
There's nothing wrong about celebrating Christmas the 25th. Paul ate food sacrificed to idols. Corrie ten Boom when they hid Jews in their house during the war celebrated both Christmas and Hanukka with them.
I even celebrate Saint Nicholas. I told the kids he's not real, well he was, but those are dressed up, I don't lie to them, but they do get presents. We celebrate it with my sister because they used to with her husbands' family, but his parents both died. My mom told his mother the gospel and said she needed to accept Jesus with Saint Nicholas, the Dutch nephew of Santa Claus LOL with his black Peters who now have to be blue or yellow, otherwise people say it's racist.
Even more funny, we once evangelized with church with Easter, the pagan date and one guy who was or maybe still is a missionary in Saudi Arabia and other muslim countries was dressed up like an Easter bunny. One guy got annoyed by us evangelizing and he said to him: isn't this stupid, those christians. You stand here as an Easter bunny and they spoil the fun. Well it is true what they say, he said hahahahahahaha.
That one evangelist we have here, he just prayed for dressed up black Peters on the street with Santa Claus and told them the gospel and they got healed.
I don't care about heathen Christmas trees. To me it's just a tree. I don't worship and bow down to it, neither do I bow down for an easter bunny. I just eat them, those chocolate things. Yum.
Lol someone said it was evil to celebrate christmas and it was worship to Wodan or something, those Christmas trees and those trees were idols. When it's a few weeks later they get burned. Lol nice way to treat an idol.
No, an idol is anything you put above God. When you don't pray and instead hang before the tv or internet it has become an idol. Anything can be an idol.
Btw I think Jesus was conceived with Christmas. Saw that on a site. Makes sense. Hanukkah. The Light came into the world.
