Which thing is the "it" to which you refer?

Look at the verse. It's right there. He nailed all our transgressions to the cross and they were canceled out. Forgiven.

What is in this verse as "it" is this: the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross

That means it's all forgiven.

Not exactly, it means that the Law and its decrees which were against the faithful have been nailed to the cross on which the Lord Jesus Christ was crucified. That appears to signify that the Law's capacity to condemn was ended when the faithful (through their baptismal union with Christ) died with their Lord on the cross.

1 Peter 2:24English Standard Version (ESV)

24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

Our sins were there nailed to the tree as this verse says. (with his body)

You are incorrect in asserting that the verse says "Our sins were there nailed to the tree" what is does say is that "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree" the difference being that Christ was on the tree and not the sins of the faithful. He bore the sins of the faithful in his own body on the tree and the purpose for which he did it was so that the faithful might die to sin and live to righteousness and then the passage teaches that By his wounds the faithful have been healed. None of this tells us when sins are forgiven.

You seem to miss the big picture. Christ bore our sins. They were nailed with Him to the cross. God accepted the sacrifice. We are redeemed because of that. There is your forgiveness right there. It's obvious.

His death is our death. It accomplished something and we are redeemed. Those who reject damn themselves. We live our lives as little christs not to gain anything but because ALL has been gained for us.

It looks as if "the big picture" can only be "seen" by ignoring what the holy scriptures actually say and substituting something from one's denominational theology textbook.

Your statements do not correspond to what the holy scriptures say. Specifically, "Servants, be submissive to your masters with all respect, not only to the kind and gentle but also to the overbearing. For one is approved if, mindful of God, he endures pain while suffering unjustly. For what credit is it, if when you do wrong and are beaten for it you take it patiently? But if when you do right and suffer for it you take it patiently, you have God's approval. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin; no guile was found on his lips. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he trusted to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls." (1 Peter 2:18-25)

I do not mean that theology is a bad thing but when reading the holy scriptures it is important to let them say what they say even if it is difficult to square with one's theology. I cannot see any way to revise and correct theology if the holy scriptures and the ancient sources for practises within the church are not read with a clean slate and the results compared with what one's church or denomination says about those passages now. Often the two will be the same but sometimes they will differ.

We can say that our sins were forgiven at the cross because if they weren't forgiven there first, then they weren't atoned for ...you know the ones you commit now and will commit in the future. All sins were nailed to the cross. Every single one. That's where our Justification lies; in Christ's death. Anything else is connected to that. Everything for the Christian is connected to Christ's death and resurrection.

You need to either rethink this or reword it.
As it is either worded in haste and thus an error.or it is just WRONG.
The sins you know you will commit?
If you have begun to walk in christ ,truley, and so to walk in obedience to the holy spirit.. Having repented of sin.at what time is the holy spirit going to lead you to sin?
So if you say sinyou know you will do..then you have willfull intent to sin.have then not truly yet repented and are then not yet saved from sin being still under its dominion.
You cant have it both ways .

So you don't believe Christ died on the cross for your sins?

Yes and it also says that there is no forgiveness for those who have tasted the good gift and then trample it underfoot. Repent and be saved Repent and have your sins forgiven

Those who reject the forgiveness and the Savior, when they die do not receive the benefits of the forgiveness of the cross. Those who have faith in the Savior and His forgiveness at their death will have everlasting life.

And by willfully and knowingly continuing in sin one is too rejecting the salvation of Christ.
