Jesus is man and Jesus is God. Why do people keep wanting to split him into pieces because they don't understand?

Because they do not believe in the incarnation rightly. Or perhaps they do not believe in the Blessed Trinity rightly. Maybe if the read saint Augustine's TRINITY they would understand better what Christians believe about these matters.

St Augustine

Yes, I hope you would understand what saint Augustine wrote about the holy Trinity. Have you read his book called THE TRINITY?

im not even convinced the man was a christian .. he certainly was not born again by all the evidence that is out there .
and this is exactly the sort of thing im talking about in so many places .. the attitude that oh because this guy wrote it ..it must be absolutely true .. well that is not the case Gods Word alone is absolute truth .. and his word became flesh and his name is JESUS .
he is the ONLY head of HIS church .

rome's church has the pope as its head ..

the church im a part of has only the lord JEsus

Saint Augustine's THE TRINITY is not true because he wrote it it is true and he is a saint because he wrote it (and many other works that are also true) and lived a godly life.

And your opinions are authoritative? More authoritative than those of the Catholic Church which has over a billion members? Not that numbers are an infallible proof or anything like that but they surely weigh in an argument about how good or bad your opinion is versus the teaching of the Catholic Church. You're just one person dismissing the teaching of two thousand years and billions of godly people. I am not persuaded by your opinion thus far Perhaps you have something more substantial that "that's just man saying so" when you're the man saying so.

Here's what CARM has to say about the Nestorianism being parroted, echoed, promoted and advocated by some "Evangelicals" here at CH: https://carm.org/nestorianism And note, Matt DISAGREES with the "Evangelicals" here in that Matt does not deny the two INSEPARABLE natures of Christ, he only indicates that the title can be (and he CLAIMS is) misunderstood and misapplied - a point yielded 72 pages ago, way back on PAGE ONE and repeated over and over and over and over. LIKE ALL THINGS, like all labels, like all titles, this one can be misunderstood and misuesed. But that doesn't make it "false, wrong and blasphemy" and that certainly doesn't make Nestorius correct rather than wrong, it doesn't make Scripture "false, wrong and blasphemous" rather than Nestorius (whom all Christianity has declared as false, wrong and blasphemous for some 1600 years). Friend: it's Nestorianism (which you have parroted, echoed, defended, promoted) that is "false, wrong and blasphemous" NOT Matthew 1:18, Titus 2:13, the First and Third and Fifth ECUMENICAL Councils.

Also see....

Virtually ALL Christian denominations condemn Nestorianism, NOT just Lutherans and Catholics! Virtually ALL historic churches embrace the First, Third and Fifth Ecumenical Councils that CONDEMN Nestorius (echoed verbatim by some "Evangelicals" in this thread) and Nestorianism (promoted and advocated by some "Evangelicals" in this thread).

Matthew 1:18 uses WHAT label for Mary? Is the Bible false to use this label for Mary?
Titus 2:13 uses WHAT label for the one whom Mary bore, to whom Mary is the mother? Is the Bible false to use this label to refer to the one Mary bore?

When you deny these two labels, you are declaring these two verses to be false - or simply standing with one of the worse, most horrific, most destructive heretics in the history of Christianity who modified them since Scripture disagrees with his heresy, Nestorianism.

.

Is Titus 2:13 true and correct? Or is it "false, wrong and blasphemy?"

Is JESUS (whom Mary bore, to whom Mary is Mother according to Matthew 1:18), is he "GOD" or is that "false, wrong and blasphemy?"

As long as heresy is being promoted and defended.... and critical truth is being denied.... I ain't giving up. Christ (literally) hung in there for us.... we must hang in there for Him.

I think if Mary was given the title "Mother of the Son of God".. it would clarify a lot.
