Well we are all hardly familiar with the ante deluge old world. Academia can scoff at the idea of a speaking serpent while accepting "terrible lizards" that turned into little birds and a mysterious "missing link" ;)

What about the 4 living creatures?
Point being is that the alleged book of enoch added to revelation and is accursed.

Whichever enoch or jared in vain genealogy is being accounted is far from a mountain of blessing.

Excerpt:
[ And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn ]
Lineage of a curse
[ Cain knew his wife intimately. She became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch. Cain built a city and named the city after his son Enoch.
"Irad"(jared) was born to Enoch.]

Which enoch?

That sounds like an excuse to refuse to admit that you’ve been debunked on a silly argument that you just made.

While you’re at it, why don’t you make fun of the King James Bible for mentioning unicorns?
Psalms 92
A Single horn is defined as uni'corn. Also known as a shofar, new moon, and or shabbat.
Only An elementary linguistic comprehension is needed to understand in spirit.

וַתָּ֣רֶם כִּרְאֵ֣ים קַרְנִ֑י בַּ֝לֹּתִ֗י בְּשֶׁ֣מֶן רַעֲנָֽן׃

You raise my horn high like that of a wild ox; I am soaked in freshening oil.

'A horn is like inclining an ear with strength
A whip in air without a stone

I don’t think you were paying attention to the conversation.
The unicorn in the Bible is a real animal. Probably a rhinoceros.
So also, the “sirens” talked about in the LXX and Enoch are probably just real animals, not mermaids.

It’s a ridiculous argument against the book of Enoch.

If you want to believe the book of 1 Enoch is referencing a lizard native to the Carolinas, using as your poof the Webster’s 1828 dictionary, then by all means go for it. I feel very comfortable letting those who read this thread decide for themselves if they find your claim in any way coherent.

I did not make fun of anything. Once again you are simply making things up as you go and trying to change the topic.

So you insist that the sirens in the book of Enoch are mermaids?

Well, then you might as well insist that the KJV is mentioning mythical horse-like unicorns, half-goat men called satyrs, and a cockatrice -a dragon with a chicken’s head.

Again, these are the arguments that an atheist would make. Whatever the LXX and Enoch were referring to when mentioning “sirens” has to be some kind of real creature.

How am I not surprised that you bring up a lizard from the Carolinas? Oh, yea, like I’m going to suggest that Enoch lived in South Carolina. Yea, he also lived on a plantation and drank sweat tea. Yea, right.

This is the kind of nonsensical stuff atheists do. They “play dumb” and bring up ridiculous arguments. Obviously I’m not suggesting that Enoch lived in Carolina. But the mention of siren in Enoch has to be a real creature, just like the mention of satyrs and unicorns in the KJV has to be real creatures.

These are not convincing arguments that you’re bringing forth.

How about a less subjective argument against 1 Enoch:

Who built Noah’s Ark?

I did not insist anything and I never said mermaids. It is amusing how you get even the simplest of facts wrong.

That is your opinion and I see no reason to believe it.

I didn't. You did. If you don't care for it perhaps you should have not posted it at all.

Oh, yea, like I’m going to suggest that Enoch lived in South Carolina. Yea, he also lived on a plantation and drank sweat tea. Yea, right.
You did, so consequently you have no one to blame but yourself.

This is the kind of nonsensical stuff atheists do. They “play dumb” and bring up ridiculous arguments.
If that makes you feel better, then run with it.

Obviously I’m not suggesting that Enoch lived in Carolina.
Again you posted it. If the shoe fits.

But the mention of siren in Enoch has to be a real creature, just like the mention of satyrs and unicorns in the KJV has to be real creatures.
Any time you want to prove otherwise no one is stopping you.

These are not convincing arguments that you’re bringing forth.
Perhaps not to someone who uses Webster’s 1828 dictionary as evidence.

Oh, by the way, when Noah Webster says that this species of lizard called “siren” lives in Carolina, do you think that its ancestor might have been on Noah’s ark?

Think about that.
Just think for a moment.

**Hint: Enoch lived BEFORE the flood.**

How about a less subjective argument against 1 Enoch:

Who built Noah’s Ark?
Likely 8 persons having 20 digits with cubits to measure the value of 0.
Minus the zero equals 16 toes seen in vision by yechezkel .
And I imagine a pollard has a gift to share.
John 3:5

Blessings Always

Sirens are not mermaids.
Two different mythical creatures.

Regardless of that point, you’re still insisting that it’s mythical.

This is the kind of argument atheists make.
You insist on saying that the book of Enoch is mentioning mythical creatures.
Is the KJV mentioning a mythical unicorn? A mythical satyr?

How do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you use illogical arguments like this?

Again you’re playing dumb.

The point still stands. The KJV is not mentioning mythical unicorns. Nor is it mentioning mythical satyrs. Definitions change over time.

The most likely conclusion for the mention of sirens in Enoch and the LXX is that it’s merely talking about a real creature, like perhaps that of a lizard or some other creature, and that’s what was meant by “sirens.”

When Job and Isaiah mention sirens in the LXX, the King James translated the same verse as dragons. So it is logical to assume that it’s probably just some type of lizard or reptile.

And please stop it with the silly immature games that you’re playing. I’m not interested. I’m interested in the truth of what the text originally meant. Get real.

Mermaids and Sirens are mythical.
“Unicorn” in the KJV is a bad translation and other translations corrected it.

I don’t care what Enoch said women change into. Arguing over the correct translation of the word misses the 600 pound Gorilla that people do not CHANGE INTO ANYTHING! The redeemed go to Heaven and the damned go to hell and the “Angel” lied to Enoch about the matter.

That matters more than “mythical siren” vs “North Carolina Lizard” vs “some unknown creature”.
