Finally got to the end of the paperwork that seemed to last forever. Tonight my wife is seeing a friend of hers, and I'm hoping a friend of mine is free for a beer or two. I think he has his kids this week. His kids are energetic and a lot of fun.

It was 23 degrees outside with a cold wind. Perfect weather for a walk. Didnt fancy walking in the mountains in these temperatures - managing my body heat is really hard because I work up a sweat powering up the hills and then freeze going down the north side, only to sweat on the blast back up and freeze again heading back down. At least the final descent is surrounded by trees which usually breaks up the wind. So today I went for one of my longer walks around town. I had considered extending my 8 mile loop to make it more like 10 miles but as I approached the relevant junction I was feeling the cold so decided to stick to the slightly shorter version.

I need to look at the map in more detail and figure out the length of each individual road section, so I can come up with a variety of routes of longer lengths. Maybe some day I'll spend the day walking the local roads and chalking up lots of miles. It's a good way to cover distance, although doesn't give the intensity of the workout the mountains offer.

Went through my closet and boxed up clothes that I no longer wear or need. Later, I will bring the boxes over to the Red Cross.

I tried to do that. Kind of. I saw a site that suggested I bag up my clothes and put it in my closet with a note on the top saying if not opened in 1 year to donate the bag without opening it. I still haven't followed through with getting rid of the 2 big bags in my closet! I guess that's a goal to take care of this year.

Ran sound for another funeral. They seem to be getting more and more frequent lately. Then went for a short walk around town to get some air and exercise. A longer walk would have been nice but still got a few things to finish off this weekend.

To some it would have been freezing...it was 17* and I was on the porch for a little bit, in my shorts and sleeveless shirt...I'm a cold weather fan :)

Cold is good. I like the cold more than the heat.

Whoa! I can't tolerate cold anymore after my surgeries. If my fingers and toes get cold it takes hours to warm them up.

I went for a two hour walk when it was 23 degrees outside. I kept my hands warm, as much as I needed to, by putting them in my pockets. I have been known to get funny looks from people if I'm on a shorter walk, when someone wearing a heavy coat and beanie crosses my path and I'm wearing a T-shirt.

I used to be able to tolerate some cold a little better since I grew up in the midwest but it's harder now. Maybe I need those hand warmers for my pockets and boots?

Hand warmers might be more useful in your gloves than your boots :p
