If your body is saying sleep you should totally do that!

Had a doze this morning and another one this evening. In between times I went for a fast walk around town. The weather wasn't great but the rain held off long enough for me to zip round.

My new fitness tracker measures active minutes based on pulse rather than simply moving, and awards double minutes for vigorous activity. So my 65 minute walk chalked up 90 "activity minutes". Not a bad start to the week.

For good measure I also got some more paperwork done, although have yet to get started on some electrical work I need to address.

More paperwork this morning, then did my short loop around town. This is the loop my wife and I often do, but when I do it solo I ramp the speed to a point she struggles to maintain for any length of time. It gets my heart working hard, especially on the hilly sections, but it's still a nice walk.

Now just whiling away some time before she gets back with some friends for an early supper. Then I'll probably have a really wild exciting evening and get some more paperwork done.

Good morning all, had about 12 hours sleep last night, having my usual breakfast and my morning coffee.

Good afternoon all, enjoying a mild roast coffee and an orange tea. Lunching on leftovers with orange juice. Doing aroma therapy and music therapy till dinner and to bed tonight.

Coffee in Starbucks. It was okay until the most raucous music started. They HAVE to know how bad this is. Still not over...
If I hear some guy wailing "POW-AH!... POW-AH!... POW-AH!..." any more I'm going to cut the pow-ah... :ROFLMAO:

It's starting to get that way, but old habits die hard. The hospital where I work has a cafe that brews bagged Starbucks, but it's the most vile coffee I've ever tasted. Rot-gut stuff for sure.

In England we used to have a chain called the Seattle Coffee Company. They were pretty good. Then they got taken over by Starbucks, the price went up and the quality went down. On top of price increases they cut corners as well - the visible price increases were small but they did things like reducing the number of coffee shots in a drink. You could have the extra shot added, but for an extra cost.

I honestly couldn't tell you the last time I had anything from Starbucks. These days when I drink coffee when I'm out I look for an independent coffee shop. At least they are likely to be able to make a cup of coffee worth drinking. The only exception is if I'm on the road early (which is rare), and if I really REALLY need coffee I'll be a little less fussy.

Not all Starbucks are the same. If you visit one in a college town you'll get a much stronger brew. Some locations aren't good at cleaning their equipment and that affects taste.

Well if you ever accidentally get a gift card for Starbucks from someone you can send it to one of the members here :D

I will keep that in mind. One year I entered a prize draw where one of the prizes was a gift card to a restaurant in my home town, but it's a restaurant I absolutely refuse to eat at - the prices are too high, the service is often slow, the food isn't very good and I dislike the owner (apart from that it's great). I was half expecting that of all the available prizes that would be the one I would win. (In the end I won nothing)

We have an independent place in town that's pretty good. They have a second level that used to have comfy couches and chairs to hang out. The last time I was there they got rid of them and replaced them with "retro" (i.e. metal) dining chairs and wobbly tables. They're still good for a chai latte or mocha.

Where I live there's an independent coffee shop that we visit every once in a while. It's a nice place to be and we like the owners, which always helps.

I have friends who live near an awesome coffee shop. They have half a dozen single origin coffees available at any time and numerous ways they can brew the coffee for you. They have a display piece that is the ultimate in slow brewing - it's an ornate setup that passes one single drop of water through the coffee every several seconds. I'm not sure what it's called, but what comes out of it is actually a drinkable coffee. I think it's some variation of cold brewing, I just never tried it. That place is quite expensive though - you can easily spend nearly $10 for a large coffee - so it's not one to visit daily!
