Stop going against obedience to Christ, then you will be alright if you obey.

Again, once again, still one more time, I'm NOT - at all, not a bit - "against" obedience to Christ. I'm against the works righteousness you preach, this idea that we are saved because the dead perform certain works or functions adequately. I hold that Jesus is the Savior and thus Jesus does the Saving.

Grace is Jesus Christ.

You preach against obedience to Christ.

You should fear.
No one teaches against obedience to Christ. We just don't teach that following specific rules save you.
You teach that certain rules must be obeyed and if they are not obeyed, you will not be saved or you will lose your salvation.
There is no grace in your preaching.
God is gracious to save. God is gracious to give faith. God is gracious to lead us to repentance as we trust Him. God is gracious to continue the good work of sanctification in us.
God, God, God. We teach the mighty power of God.

I sing the mighty pow’r of God, that made the mountains rise,
That spread the flowing seas abroad, and built the lofty skies.
I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day;
The moon shines full at His command, and all the stars obey.

I sing the goodness of the Lord, who filled the earth with food,
Who formed the creatures through the Word, and then pronounced them good.
Lord, how Thy wonders are displayed, where’er I turn my eye,
If I survey the ground I tread, or gaze upon the sky.

There’s not a plant or flow’r below, but makes Thy glories known,
And clouds arise, and tempests blow, by order from Thy throne;
While all that borrows life from Thee is ever in Thy care;
And everywhere that we can be, Thou, God, art present there.

What he said....

This old "Gospel Hymn" has it right.... The Dead are BLIND, mute, void, unable to 'see'.... but God comes and GIVES sight (faith)... so he praises the LORD, not himself. Jesus saves by grace, we don't save by adequately obeying the Law and performing saving acts; no reason to praise self. "What becomes of boasting?" Paul asks in this regard? It is vanquished, eliminated - God did it, HE gets all the thanks, all the credit, all the praise.

It seems more likely that a person suffering from OCD would be bothered by a rogue period lol

I said Baptists have been around since then. This is a fact. Baptists have been around since the time Christ walked the earth. Rome came later.

John was the first baptist

What a ridiculous conclusion. The demons do not have faith; they merely have comprehension.

NOWHERE ANYWHERE does the scriptures say we can't believe and obey God!

YOU ARE AGAINST OBEY GOD.

Stop saying we can't obey when He tells us to obey!

You are against God.

All the years I have been debating, I have noticed a strange unnatural writing style in some people.

Would you not rather try to help someone with OCD, or make fun of the one trying to help?

It's called a period, they usually go at the end of a sentence. ;)

You think you sound like a person whose heart and mind is right with God?

It is not a period at the end of a sentence. I take it off when I reply to his posts. It is some kind of extra period way below his name.

You going against me the way you do is rude.

And in the middle we have an Anglican pretending to "the middle way" again.

Yep, that's us--in the middle, retaining the best of Catholicism and reformed Christianity but conscious also of the need to avoid the extremes of both Romanism and Puritanism. :)

You sure do preach against obedience to Christ!

You say we can't obey until after we are saved!

Thus you hinder the way to salvation.

Right; you demean God's words.
Actually, you hinder salvation by demanding humans follow rules to receive it rather than receive salvation by grace through faith.
The wages of sin is death. All fall short of the glory of God.
No one would need a Savior if they could do it themselves, yet you still preach that a person can get saved by their own works.

If "we" is who we are discussing, the unregenerate, the DEAD, the spiritually lifeless, the atheistic/blind/enemy of God, the one without the Holy Spirit.

CHRISTIANS - with faith, with justification, with the Holy Spirit CAN obey (at least to an extent)... but this is not why they are saved, their being saved is why it is true.

I'm against your soteriology, I"m not against obeying God. NO ONE HERE IS.

Jesus is the Savior and he taught how to get saved.

Your John Calvin is your savior and you let him lie to you about what Paul taught.
