Why do people view sin as impossible to overcome in Christ who has already done so?

Put not your hand in a vipers nest lest it bite you and you become sick unto death.

-Lord I am sick unto death?
How did you become sick?
Lord I put my hand in that vipers nest.please forgive/heal me.

I forgive you,be healed.
Now ,go and put your hand in the vipers nest no more.

Rebellion is a chosen action of the will which has consequence.

I think it comes down to theology. Some folk believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God [SUP]Romans 3.23 [/SUP]means that people sin each and every day.

Indeed. If man does lives his life ignorant of his daily sins then he is deceiving himself believing that he is above other creatures on the earth and when that man falls ill and inevitably passes on then all will know that he was a sinful man since all eventually die because the wages of sin is death. I have yet to come across in my longevity a man who does not sin except for that glorious man the Christ who is my Lord and Savior, Praise God!

I ought to mention that I do not believe that theology - the one that interprets "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" [SUP]Romans 3.23[/SUP] to mean that people inevitably sin each and every day.

Yet we all sin or the truth is not in us and we are told to ask forgiveness daily

Then go try sit alone for a while with 20 rebellious yanking kids day in day out alone and see if you won't get mad if they try to get the blood from under your nails. If you do you're a rebel.
I get so sick and tired of those holiness preachers who say they dont sin and if you do youre a rebel. Then they cosily dump their kids with their wife and live their nice relaxed life.

Amen to the sentiment in your post. People who proclaim their own sinlessness surely cannot be honest about themselves.

For thee and me what you say appears to be the truth. We do sin and sin more often than we ought. Yet the holy scriptures also point to another reality and that in the very letter from which part of your post is a quote. The other reality is that those in Christ "sin not" [SUP]1John 3:9[/SUP]. And this is said of Job "for there is no one like him on the earth, a man without sin and upright, fearing God and keeping himself far from evil?" [SUP]Job 1:8 BBE[/SUP]

Somewhat of a bitter projection is not something upon which to build a theology .

its true. its always men who say it and theyre never stuck alone with a bunch of kids and then they can only accuse you. What's the use? Do you think I get faith from someone like that to live sinless 24/7? It has nothing to do with rebellion. I believe it is possible though to achieve it but Paul hadnt even and he never accused. Its annoying and judging is sin.

again this is nothing to do with a relationship with god but rather a projection of past relations with men , whose approval you still appear to desire ?
( by the way , judging the congregation is not sin and judging the world is just senseless since before we were saved from our own ways we were them .- from it i would draw a partial conclusion that your concept of what sin is ,verses what willful sin is ,is merged into confusions .)

I agree that willful sin is rebellion. You can just repent and not do it anymore. Maybe that's why i never understand those people. They just say sin.
It has nothing to do with past relations. Those men who say they never sin on youtube forums or wherever i simply noticed they're always old or married with 2 kids and a great wife, Smith Wigglesworth, Dan Mohler, Torben Sondergaard. They can fix on the Lord the whole day and pray the whole day. No wonder they dont sin.

At least he's honest.

Do you think anybody (Christ excepted) in history was sinless at least for some part of their life (after conversion)?

honesty is good .
but .
the rich man was honest To jesus and went away sad because he did not desire to forsake his riches to follow Jesus .this amounts to no repentance .
sorry if i come across as abrupt.
but the picture i wish to insert here is -
Jesus did not come and preach be honest because the kingdom of heaven is here , but repent .
so i asked the question of why would we willingly knowingly oppose the will of the one we say we follow.
again it is abrupt to ask , but would that not display a pretense of Faith rather then an actual faith ?
