I wanted to finish the month with another run, I've been doing a few gentle runs in my old running shoes. When I run four miles and walk the last 1.5 miles or so I don't want to wear my nice new running shoes. Today I decided to run another 10k and wore my new shoes. They're really very good. I don't know why they make running easier and faster but they do, I'm not sure if it's just that the soles are springier or whether it's partly psychological.
Today's run was a good pace. Around the 5-mile mark I took a hill too hard and had to take a short walk break but still kept my speed up, and ended up shaving five seconds off what my Garmin thinks is my 10k PB, although that was based on something it miscalculated so by my reckoning I missed my PB by seven seconds.
Either way it was a much faster run than I expected, and another good time clocked in my new shoes.
