    Would you buy a house....

You could always pray over the house for yourself, right? Do you need a priest to come out? Questions often create more follow-on questions than might be expected. In your example here, how "heavy into the occult" is acceptable to you before you decide not to bother? Would you buy from an...

    Would you buy a house....

That's assuming books are clearly on display. Personally if I saw inverted crosses hanging on walls I'd figure it was just as likely someone was doing it for shock value than because of any actual practise of the occult or satanism.

    Fast food

I think the last time I had fast food was about this time last year. Most of it doesn't count as food in my book, it's overpriced and not great quality.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

We were supposed to get "severe thunderstorms" after 3pm and mostly sunny until then. My wife and I went for a walk and it started to rain at the furthest point from home. That was near our church, which was locked but has a few doorways where you can take shelter. Because we thought the storm...

    Would you buy a house....

How would you go about finding out if the occult was practised? Where would you draw the line - would you be worried if someone read their horoscopes every day in the living room or only want to know if someone was doing things like summoning demons and the like?

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

Today I'm going to be thinking about where best to tap a cable into my lighting circuit to fit this new fan I want. I think I've got a handle on the best place for it, just trying to make sure I've covered enough bases to not cause myself problems later. I also need to figure out how to get at...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

In related news my forecast is that asteroids may fall from the sky and eliminate life as we know it. It probably won't happen but it may happen. If by this time tomorrow you have seen falling asteroids you know that I called it. If you don't you'll know I was still right because it was possible...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

In my area they forecast severe storms often enough it feels like the boy that cried wolf. It's as if they figure there's a vanishingly small chance of something nasty happening so they list it as "possible". It seems to be about as much use as the warnings that "bacon causes a 100% increased...

    Would you buy a house....

I don't know it would bother me, especially since houses like that usually seem to be discounted because nobody else wants them. Back when I flew more often I used to fly between Europe and the US on September 11 for the same reason - so many people were superstitious about that date the...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

Some light tinkering in the house this afternoon. I needed to figure how much of a drop there is in my drop ceiling because I want to fit a ceiling fan but didn't know how much space I had to work with. Based on an adjacent room I figured I'd have 2x4s forming some kind of pattern but didn't...

    Pie

I like fruit pies of just about any type. I don't like it when people slather huge amounts of goop over the top.

    Eurovision 2022

It has seemed for a long time that it's not so much a song contest as a political popularity contest. I haven't watched it in years, mostly for that reason.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

Helped with a fundraiser for some of the church kids to go on a mission trip this lunchtime. I had thought it would be pretty neat if it raised $5-600 but we ended up with slightly over double that. Tonight we've got a movie showing. I'm not interested in the movie but I'll be there to set it...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

My can of spray foam didn't quite make it the whole way around the room. I got all of the gaps filled except the last one, which is about 1/3 full because I ran out of foam. I didn't really want to use a new can of foam just for that small section. By now it should be ready to trim back to the...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

A bit more precision dismantling in the guest bedroom. I managed to get the long baseboard off completely, and remove the lath and plaster from behind it. Then a quick cleanup with the shop vac that sounds like it's ready to give up the ghost at any time. As I expected there are gaps in the...

    Finally doing this summer

This summer is full steam ahead on fixing up the house after things ground to a halt for a variety of reasons. Hoping next summer we have some international visitors.

Why won't he drive with it opened? Use ratchet straps to hold things down. Or put a hydraulic lift in the back so you can raise it up and close the rear. Or just buy a bigger truck :P

    Hand sanitiser

Perhaps, but it works. It's not actually that difficult to keep a mental note of whether each hand is clean or not, and restrict less clean activity to one hand as far as possible. I've been doing it for years when spending extended time outside, where it's good to know whether either hand is...

    Hand sanitiser

I can't stand the stuff. I've never liked it, the only times I'll ever use it is if there really is no other option (and in most circumstances simply accepting my hands aren't clean and acting accordingly is a preferable option). If I need to wash my hands I'd rather use soap and water.

    Squatters

In many ways it seems wrong, although I can see there is a case that if a landowner doesn't notice someone else living and using their property for over a decade they could be deemed to have abandoned it. There are also potential cases that relate to land rather than buildings and the concept...
