So... What are YOU doing? - Part 4

Here's a basic one, although there are as many 'add-on's' as the sun. I like mine with some bacon, sour cream, and onion. I'll indulge maybe about once a year. it takes the rest of the year to process it out of my system.

The History of Outer Space Programming

At 5:30 in the video, where is this graphic from? (I know the caption references a book, but I'd like the source for the specific graphic the producers use, if you know)

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 4

That is a 'Poutine Donut' :) Glazed donut, potato wedges, cheese curds, beef gravy. :D It's a cross-border "celebration" of Canada's 150th, I guess. But Canadians don't get the donut.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 4

It'd be good for things like burgers and dogs, maybe. Keep the steaks and ribs for the real thing. I spent some time today talking with the team leader. A lot of the program has been the same for the last eight years, and apparently has had some 'tweaks' since then, but not a real update. So I...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 4

The guy that had it before me had his way of doing things, and tended to go 'off-script'. He had his own format, and was very "zen" about a lot of it - guided imagery and such. So he had it down to a "T". I'm not "zen" in the least, so I'm going through the PowerPoints trying to make sense of...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 4

Working my way through the material of a group program I inherited for parents of anxious kids. Thought the curriculum was all set up, but there's only the PowerPoint slides and off-center (photocopied 100x since original) handouts. No curriculum. I'm learning curriculum development really fast! :D

    Flea Markets

My wife's hometown has a number of good farm markets - also a region famous for their cherries. Of course, Detroit had/has 'Eastern Market' on weekends covering a few city blocks

    Flea Markets

Some of it, I think, is having that one thing in mind that they're looking for. My dad restores antique cars, and before a major car show every year in Hershey, PA, he gets online with a bunch of guys to compare 'notes' about who has what. but he'll typically come back with a certain "look what...

Supreme court temporarily upholds travel ban

Rather surprising that it was unanimous this way. May be until they can give it more consideration. Anything could happen, though. I'm reminded of John Roberts casting a deciding vote with some of the rules for 'Obamacare'.

    Flea Markets

I used to frequent one back in Michigan every week. They had a good variety, and the vendors usually had new stuff every week. It was indoor/outdoor, so it was easy to spend a few hours. The major flea market in Vancouver, I haven't been to yet. When finances allow, I plan to make a day trip of it.
