How often does Christianity make people worse?

Oh, come on. If "teaching" makes one treat others badly, then one needs to re-evaluate what's really being taught.

How often does Christianity make people worse?

The PCUSA has not avoided the issue at all. The ordination standard was changed in 2011. It may be true of your particular assembly, but not of the PCUSA as a whole. The Pastor of my parent's church took the stand that ordination of homosexual clergy was against the laws of God set out in the...

How often does Christianity make people worse?

Holding on for dear life to an ideology doesn't belong solely to a church with the most conservative (or 'Pharisaical', if you like) bent. I had a nice (?) conversation the last few days with a couple of complementarian women, one a minister in the Anglican church. As long as I agreed...

    Women's and Men's Private forums

I'm not sure what would help gain traction in the men's forum. I've asked. I was hoping the AMA thread would get some traction, which it has. (Thanks guys! :) ) (still waiting for those 'coney's'... ;) ). Otherwise, not much interest so far. Maybe a men's prayer thread?

    What are you listening to?

Strangers passing in the street By chance two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me And do I take you by the hand And lead you through the land And help me understand the best I can And no one calls us to move on And no one forces down our eyes No one speaks And no one tries...

iBot Poll: How many books read?

I don't do as much pleasure reading as I would like to now, but as a kid - LOTS! I was really big into Steven King, C.S. Lewis, and Ray Bradbury. I would go through those books in the span of a few days in the summer-time. Not their short stories, either.

    Carrie Fisher

It's interesting that someone would say it was "blaming the victim" when Fisher's daughter (in the linked article) openly acknowledged her struggle, and made a point to state that Fisher did while she was alive, too.

Mayweather/McGregor fight scheduled for Aug. 26th

Yeah, I think McGregor is best left to MMA. I'd never understood the appeal of MMA until I started watching a bit of it. These guys are good!
