    What are you listening to?

I'd forgotten that one, too. Great song. That's my favorite stuff from them - Planet Claire, Dance This Mess Around, Strobe Light, Private Idaho. Right around when their guitarist died, and they started with stuff like Love Shack... eh, no.

Pulpit and Pen on Eastern Orthodoxy

I suspect that if I were to visit an EO service, I'd be the type just to get enveloped in it. Time? What is time?

    There was only one 'Batman'

I know we're talking 'classic' Batman, and this film was generally panned, but Halle Berry as "Catwoman"? LOOKOUT! :D

"The Bible Answer Man" converts to Orthodoxy

The article addressed some about his health challenges, and I watched the video link. He has a podcast now on iTunes that I've subscribed to. He's apparently still answering bible questions, but is also addressing his health issues as well as questions regarding his conversion. I haven't had a...

"The Bible Answer Man" converts to Orthodoxy

Imo, I think it's one of the "why are people leaving the Evangelical church" 'symptoms' that isn't being addressed. There's quite a bit of hand wringing over the exodus from Evangelical churches, but this particular phenomenon is either not on their maps, or is being deliberately ignored. As...

    There was only one 'Batman'

I wasn't allowed to watch for a while since my mom thought it would give me nightmares :D I'd sneak down to the basement anyway, turn the TV down as low as I could, and stick my ear up to the speaker. She still knew! :)

What is this? (#3 Post 52)

Clues: It's been said that these insects don't actually have these. The back view (which this is) is the pollen press. But the 'slang' term (the answer we're looking for) is defined as "...a highly admired person or thing." Synonyms: cat's meow, jim-dandy, hum-dinger, etc.

    Your Feelings about Facebook

I have a few friends on FB and will sometimes get some amusing/interesting posts shared. It's good as far as staying connected to family (parents, brother, niece, nephews) and to know what's going on in their world, since I don't often talk to them. My niece and nephew are in the Naval academy...

    Frippery, Junk, or Rubbish

Frippery of the 1920's seems to be more associated with dress style of the 'flapper' girl. So... Frippery, junk, rubbish, or flapper???

Megyn Kelly "interviews" Putin. Grab your popcorn...

You're right, there is no bickering necessary. Sometimes things are more amusing to me than looking at world events as merely "nattering nabobs of negativity". It interests me in that, whether left or right leaning, the U.S. is going to heck in a hand-basket, and the press right along with it...

    Frippery, Junk, or Rubbish

Definitely 20th. The 70's and 80's seemed to be quite heavy with it. I recall gaudy furniture, macrame flower pot hangers, fake plants, ugly lamps (standing, hanging, and table), etc. It was also the era of Muzak :D
