    Following a rabbit trail. I was reading an article, and got slightly annoyed by the phrase "cut the mustard" (grrrrr...). So that led to a trail on the origin of "cut the muster" (i.e.making the cut, passing the test, etc.), which led to my perusing articles on 'BBC America' about differences...
