The End of the World - list of dates that came and went

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dates_predicted_for_apocalyptic_events This wiki has an extensive list of apocalyptic events that were predicted to happen but never did. Look at the list and see how it was almost every other year that someone predicted would be the end. The End Times have...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Just finished eating blueberry pancakes for breakfast. I found out that my blueberries taste sweeter if I first freeze them for a week after buying them and then thaw them the night before making the pancakes. Is that a fluke that it happened that way 3 times now?

Is Immersion required by Scripture when a baptism is performed?

Reposting this for atpollard who did not read it. Look in Mark, sir.

    Happy Belated Birthday, Josiah!

He announced it in another thread so it's not completely private.

    Fitbit

LOL Yeah a friend of mine said (in a derogatory way) how she bumped up her numbers on her odometer but I want my numbers from actual steps to know I'm moving and not my arms. My arms can get their own workout separately :D

    Sanctification - You aren't alone

I think that you aren't disagreeing with what I wrote here in the thread? Your wording is a little confusing to know if you are agreeing.

Theology of Glory or Theology of the Cross?

A Theology of Glory and a Theology of the Cross Everyday in every way we are getting better and better. Really? by Don Matzat "The Protestant theology of glory begins with a one-time trip to the Cross of Jesus Christ." "The theology of the Cross is quite different. The preaching of sin and...

    Sanctification - You aren't alone

Sanctification has both a broad and narrow sense. Here in this thread I should have put the disclaimer that we are referring to the narrow sense of the word. Yes, Justification is a legal term wherein God declares us not guilty on account of the Christ who died for our sins. By faith we...

    Passive Righteousness

This reminds me of the people using the co-exist bumper stickers...but the problem is that they can't all be true. There is one truth. Either God saves us 100% or we have a role. The last time I looked at scripture (and that was moments ago), God is our Savior (completely) without our help...

    Sanctification - You aren't alone

We could do without that first gibberish because even though you might feel frustrated you don't have to respond like that.

    Happy Belated Birthday, Josiah!

The auto birthday didn't work for you because you either don't have your birthday in your profile or it's private :) Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you had a great day! :birthdayparty::birthdaysmiley::party019:

Is Immersion required by Scripture when a baptism is performed?

If the original language can't be properly understood then the theology will probably state something as well that isn't understood. Tables and chairs had the same term that the baptism that Jesus instituted had. Therein lies the defense that it's not strictly mandated that a person goes under...

    Passive Righteousness

I know you hate it when your posts get chopped but this portion... But if we look at it as God hold's man responsible to receive/believe... places a condition of salvation onto man instead of 100% condition of salvation upon God. Do you see that difference? Man isn't responsible for his...

Is Immersion required by Scripture when a baptism is performed?

Infants are included in "all nations". Jesus didn't say to exclude them. But now you've gone off on a tangent. I gave proof that tables and chairs were baptized in the bible. To immerse them in the house would have been ridiculous.

    Fitbit

That makes sense. To us a step is a step. But to a Fitbit a step isn't a step until you make more than a certain number consecutively. LOL

    Sanctification - You aren't alone

In Justification we have the declaration of God placed upon us because of Jesus the Christ our Savior who died for the forgiveness of sins. In Sanctification we have the freedom to live without the burden of having to work for salvation because we are declared free already. And with that we...

    Sanctification - You aren't alone

That's why Josiah and I are always trying to show the proper distinction between Law and Gospel and Justification and Sanctification and when they get all muddied by people it is carried over into the wrong thread!!

    Sanctification - You aren't alone

On earth while living yes, God still has His Law in place and we are accused by that Law always. But the Gospel is what we live by and know that even if we falter we are covered under the righteousness of Jesus and when we die all our sins have been cleansed by His blood so that when judgment...

    Passive Righteousness

In Passive Righteousness we have the judicial declaration being made where we are set free from the bounds of the Law because of Christ Jesus. This is entirely done apart from us. A judge declares a prisoner free. The prisoner walking out does not make the declaration any more true. But the...
