    I like how you keep pointing out about community because if we look to the Hebrews and Jews they were definitely focused on community instead of individualism. I think being part of a community in a church does keep us grounded in a way so that we want to know more about God.

    This was meant for encouragement and ask those who are on the fence if those are good reasons to join. There are many people who haven't found the right congregation. And there are homebound people who cannot be active members. Joining a church isn't law but an opportunity :)

    Okay Strav. You've had your say. I have been asked by people why they shouldn't go to church and they aren't ones to post and ask it outright here on the forum but I know they lurk. I am asking those lurkers aren't those reasons in my OP good ones? I'm sincerely asking them.

    Scripture says that water was used because he was in the river. It doesn't not state if he stood, if he was laid back into it, etc...it doesn't not say if he was covered from head to toe completely. Mankind needs to be aware of what baptism is and not demand what it is not. If God wanted...

    It is not indicated in scripture what method Jesus received His baptism except that it was done with water. To state otherwise is not going to be truthful.

    Because it's not about quantity...baptizo. Forcing the word to only mean immersion is showing that you think it's only about the quantity of water and that clearly misses the point of what baptism is.
