When a parched throat is given a glass of water, it can be understood as Salvation, when it is but the first sip of what is to come... The Call of God when received by the unrepentant CAN be misunderstood as Salvation itself... And with that, the one hearing that Call can immediately go forth...
Mat_28:19
Go ye therefore,
and disciple all nations,
baptizing them in the name
of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit:
So WHO is Christ commanding here to be Baptizing...?
And WHOM are they to Baptize?
And where does the Bible say that the Spirit of God Baptizes?
Arsenios
Then why was Christ baptized? Do you remember His Holy Words to John when John said to Him that he needed to be baptized by Christ?
And why did Peter, after the Holy Spirit fell upon the Gentiles Cornelius and his party, after the prayers of Cornelius had ascended to the Throne of the Most...
So are we baptized INTO Christ?
Are we baptized INTO His Death on the Cross?
Is entry into Christ and His Life and His Death by Grace?
Is Salvation by and through ENTRY into Christ?
Or do you think it is apart from entry into Christ?
Do you want me to cite the Scriptures for you?
Arsenios
2Ti 2:23-25
But foolish and unlearned questions avoid,

but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves;

2 Timothy 2:22-24
Flee the evil desires of youth and
pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace,
along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments,
because you know they produce quarrels.
And the Lord’s servant must not...
I agree -
Yet sorrow is not repentance...
But it can be a driver of repentance...
Judas was so sorrowful he killed himself...
Peter was so sorrowful he was restored to Christ...
So sorrow is not repentance...
Yet repentance is sorrowful...
Arsenios
May I suggest to you, my Brother, that Repentance is an action, not an emotion...
Godly sorrow leads to repentance...
Worldly sorrow leads to death...
Repentance turns from evil unto God...
Evil embraces murder and suicide...
Arsenios
Can be a mortal sin?
Yes...
The real treachery with suicide, aside from the stencheous disgustingness of the demon into whom you enter through it, is the fact that no one has yet figured out any way to repent from it...
Jes' sayin'...
Arsenios
Judas did not repent -
He realized the enormity of what he had done and tried to fix it...
He returned the money...
He committed suicide...
His actions were that of a mob boss trying to fix a problem with "the boys"...
Peter, upon denying Christ the third time and hearing the rooster crow...
There exist prophetic Gifts to this day and hour and minute, some understood and some not, and some to be understood later, if at all... But the Revelation of God to man on earth of Himself as man was completed on the Cross of Christ through His Resurrection and Ascension and Pentecost...
And...
Have you ever tried to heal another man with Gifts from lust and vainglory?
How did that work out for you?
I mean, it is a big deal...
Yet God permitted the temptation that caused his fall...
That we should know what to do should we also similarly fall...
Arsenios
Exactly so...
The full Revelation of God is the God-man Jesus Christ...
"If you have seen Me, you have seen My Father..."
There is no more progress in the Revelation of God after Christ until He comes again.
Arsenios
From the EO perspective as well, for he fell to vainglory... Not to mention lust...
On the other hand, the higher one developes in one's relationship with God, the greater the ferocity of demonic temptations... If you are a pastor you will know that, and if not, you probably know it anyway...
Without it, the Bible is a fairy tale...
By this account, Good and evil are discerned, and can be...
With it, we see that we are born fallen, having both Good and evil in us in our fallen state...
We find the Blessing of our profound need for labors in God's curse of Adam...
Yes, the Curse of...
The issue would perhaps become more clear if we said: "God's Revelation of Himself is progressive..." WHO IS God? That is the question... Christ asked it of His Disciples: "Who do people say I am? ... Who do YOU think I am?" And the fact is that the full revelation of God is...
The Bible is a Holy Book...
It was caused to be written by God...
Holy men of God wrote it...
It was never written so be a substitute for God...
That work was done by the Prophets...
Their words were then recorded in Scripture...
The Bible directs us to God...
God the Word is God...
God's words...
