Gonna vote. Just found my vote card in the mess. Gonna vote for the Dutch reformed party that doesn't allow women in politics lol. It's the only one that's against abortion and pro Israel. LOL and shops must be closed on Sunday.

Yay! That's pretty much what made voting for Trump over Hilary a no-brainer. Pro-life, pro-Israel, pro-America, freedom and western ideals.

Couldn't understand how Anyone could call themself christian and actually WANT Hilary as President of the United States.

This is a foot deep and the ice chopper wont penetrate more than an inch or so.
I took the window out of the back door and reached through to try to chop my way out. Aint happening. The back door is frozen in, along with the car and most of the driveway, only the larger SUVs are able to make it through.

Well I got a load of the ceiling pulled down. It was interesting working some of the laths between the old cables, the new cables and the radiator pipes but most of it is done now. I need to get a hand saw in there to get the last parts down because they are too close to the breaker panels.

I'm glad I had my dust mask on. I used a new one because the straps on the previous one snapped, and it went from pure white to brown in the couple of hours I was down there.

Once the ceiling is down the rewiring project can begin in earnest.

Trial and error.

I'm learning more and more about how to keep sustainable terrariums.

The only terrarium that has survived (and thrived) in a window getting scattered (but direct) sunlight is my lentil plant. All the other sprouts in the other containers (that were in the same window) got scorched and died. We've had some pretty hot days recently. The lentil plant seems to be more heat resistant.

That being said - a closed terrarium with garlic that is sitting in indirect light is thriving. 2 lettuce plants (started from seed) in terrariums that are sitting likewise in a place where they only get indirect light are thriving. All these are closed terrariums. In addition I have 1 open terrarium that is also sitting in a place where it only gets indirect sunlight. It has survived and provided me now for quite a few weeks with fresh spring onion. I only need to mist the soil with nutrient water on occasion.


Also for normal outside plants in pots - this works:

The capillary action constantly feeds the plant gradually, until the water levels and needs a top up (which it won't because the source is far above the plants in this setup). This method may be unsuitable for some types of plants though, those that need to get a little dry in between watering.

I shudder to think. It's going to be a while. Far too big to do in one hit. I've gone through about 150' of cable so far and haven't quite finished the lighting in the basement.

My dad did that 40 years ago when we went on a holiday to Spain for 4 or 6 weeks. He used wool and I think a bucket of water.
We came back and all the plants were dead.

From dry soil/dehydration? Did he set the bucket at a level higher than the plants so the water would trickle down into them through the wool?

So far it's working for me. I am using 100% cotton strips from an old shirt and placed the reservoirs at a slightly higher point. I just started doing it though - so if the plants start to dry out I'll set up two per pot.

Yes, but I think he let them stand on their normal place in the house. Maybe the distance was too big or one tiny wool thread wasn't enough.
