Wish I had screaming antisocial neighbours or neighbours with dozens of screaming kids. I once had a deaf neighbour in a students' home with loud students. Time of my life. I miss her.

Dropped the kids off, first we ate some snacks at the cafetaria to make up for my bad cooking. There was a guy behind us in a wheelchair. He asked if I knew where the nearest gas station was, cause he needed cigarettes. So I took my phone, google maps, showed him. It was quite far away. I said: I have nicotin chewing gum. No thanks. He said: I don't even know where I am now.
That's when I realized he drank a bit too much. He smelled like alcohol. Dunno if he ever came there. Kids: mom, why on earth did you offer him nicotin chewing gum? Oh cause your mom is a bit nuts. :=D:

You were kind to offer to help. Maybe he really wanted the cash instead to buy more booze?

Oh no, he had money, but the grocery store here is closed at 7 on Sunday and only the gas stations are open later. He was in a wheelchair. I thought: That's gonna be a long ride.

Storm?

I'm contemplating the sheer amount of work I've let myself in for. I have guests coming in just under a month, and ideally want two bedrooms gutted (stripped right back to studs) and rebuilt before they arrive. I have a feeling they might end up in the other rooms. I don't want to delay the renovation work because I don't want to lose another month before even starting it. I just hope I can get it all done in time. Years ago my father and I gutted a single room and rebuilt it (one wall right back to studs, carpet out, floor out, wiring redone, plumbing redone, new floor laid, new wall erected, new skirting board installed, door trim removed and replaced, door rehung, everything repainted) in a week. All we didn't get done was fitting the new carpet, I had a local contractor come and do that for me a few days later. So maybe I can get two rooms done in a month, it's just that it's been a while and I'm a bit rusty on much of what needs to be done.

Hey, tango, ... Well you sound like an ambitious and enterprising young lad.
I'd offer to help, but I have a lot on my plate to try to organize myself in the upcoming weeks.
Aww, but that's no excuse. If you really need a hand, give me a call.
Meanwhile, yeah, major Nor'easter moving up the east coast USA and it has the potential to be a monster, and a real problem, for travel, power-outages, etc.

We have to vote tomorrow. Haven't voted in years, too much fuzz, but my son said I had to vote. Great, they didn't send me a vote thing and then you can ask a new one today til 12, but pick it up personally and I'm in another city at the office. Well bye then, then not, do I want to vote and they make it even more of a fuzz. Ah, that one vote can't keep the bozo's out anyway.

It is an absolute mess out there. Its not rain its not snowing anymore, its not even regular hail, its just ice ...! And the wind is brutal, you cant do anything out there. Its a mess!! But thank you, Jesus for a warm house, and food, hot chocolate, and a frind or two to interact with. But a nice snuggle would be nice, too. Gosh, I want it all, don't I? (Hey, I want to GIVE, too.)
