It was a miracle and I do not mean that Saul was insensate before and after the Lord appeared to him and spoke to him. What I mean is that the holy scriptures emphasise what happened not what Saul felt. He saw a blinding light, heard a voice, went blind, and so forth. These are events that happened. The account does not say "And the Lord appeared to Saul on the road to Damascus and caused him to feel the power of the Spirit and impressed on his mind words without sounds and he felt that he'd seen a vision ..." If a pastor was stopped on the road to his church building and saw a bright light, heard the voice of the Lord, was instructed what to do, and lost his sight until he did what he was instructed to do then that might be a parallel with what the Lord did when he appeared to Saul on the road to Damascus. The difference that is present between the scripture description and feeling the anointing is that the former is something that happened and is described while the anointing is described by one poster as "The anointing cannot be explained with human words. It is tangible, palpable, when the power of the Holy Spirit drops afresh upon the believer." these are very different things.
