Do the foods you eat or refuse to eat make you more pleasing to God?

It must be because you are not Jewish, that you do not understand that Jewish comment.

Perhaps it is because you do not believe what is said in John 6 that you respond with Eeeeeeww... .. that is so sick... One thing is certain, many of the Jews who had followed the Lord stopped following him on that day because their reaction was similar to the one in your post.

I think that eating may be confined to the body & blood of the Lord. But here and now we eat foods of many kinds.

What need would there be if we are present with him?

The Lord said his body is true food and his blood true drink adding that one must eat his flesh and drink his blood for eternal life. Beyond that I am not willing to go except as speculation and speculations are not worth a great deal.

Without faith, nothing is pleasing to God. Believing that the bread and wine are His body and blood is done by faith and it pleases God that we have faith, not in the fact that we are doing the eating/drinking. He wants us to eat His body and drink His blood because of the connection to the cross so once again it's all about the Savior and the forgiveness of sins. Those who eat and drink thinking it's the act that are pleasing to Him miss the entire point about the Savior and forgiveness of sins.

You don't know Jews and their Hebrew mindset. They knew that Yeshua would have never spoke in that context you have taken, but understood the symbolism in His statement with relationship to temple services just as the Lamb of God is sacrificed. It is not eaten.

Eating and drinking the flesh and blood of Yeshua is not literal. Nor should it be taken as some mystical metaphysical change with a incantation of words over it.

The priests eat the sacrificed meat and burn the fat and spill the blood on the ground.

The Old Testament showed the ways of the times to come...as MoreCoffee pointed out, the priests did indeed eat what was sacrificed. On Passover, the perfect lamb was eaten as well and wasn't to be wasted.

And never considered it Isaac's blood because the meat is without blood. Properly drained in the sacrifice.

Yet the Lord Jesus Christ bids the faithful "eat my flesh & drink my blood" so who is to be believed, the one saying Eeeeeeww... .. that is so sick.. or the Lord of Glory? The answer is obvious to all who follow Jesus.

Blood is life. We have been reconciled to God and now can have life.

The life is in the blood and one's soul is one's life. By eating the flesh of Christ and drinking the blood of Christ the faithful take on Christ and are transformed into his likeness receiving his life and substance.

Mother puts a plate of food before her child. The child either eats what she is told to eat or she doesn't. God puts before us a kosher diet, as His child what do you eat?

Mostly kosher because I simply don't like the taste of meat. But also salmon and shrimp. Come on Peter slaughter and eat. I once prayed that my ex would get good food at the restaurant. God said: Why don't you pray for yourself? So I did. It was in France and I couldn't read the menu. Don't like meat so poisson, fish must be good. I'll take that from tbe fish menu. Got chicken. Tiny chicken, really tiny. They must be baby chicks my ex said who knew how late it was but if he told me I wouldn't eat it. So it was really delicious. Then afterwards he told me they were frogs. Frogs. I was raised as a vegetarian, poor sweet animals, you don't kill them. Eeeeeewww felt them jumping in my stomach.
