Do the foods you eat or refuse to eat make you more pleasing to God?

I think we should respect our life and therefore our body and health. While I'm not obsessive about it, I do very much consider what I put in my mouth in terms of calories and nutrition. I've never had to watch my weight (for most of my life, I was underweight) but I keep that in mind, too.

As for details, I think just good, wholesome, not-overly-processed is good. I'm not into vegan or glutten-free or any of those things. I just try to keep basic nutrition in mind. I tend to avoid sweets mostly (mainly because I'm just not that big a fan of desserts) and snack foods - but I can be a hearty eater at the 3 main meals. I'm not a big meat eater too (although I like a burger or steak or prime rib) - but I include it, just rarely a huge portion. I like fish and salads and in my single days ate a lot of that; I've broadened my menu since getting married. If I have one questionable eating habit - it's wine. I like wine. And I'm not opposed to some nice scotch. Empty calories, I realize. But I've only been drunk a couple of times in my life (it's ALL it took!), I've only done the binge thing once (ditto above). So I doubt I'm harming my health - as long as I watch the amount and count the calories.

Good food is good for you.

Hebrews 13:9 Do not be led astray by all sorts of strange doctrines: it is better to rely on grace for inner strength than on food, which has done no good to those who concentrate on it.

The passage shown above warns that food does no good for those who make it into a central doctrine/practise of their religion.

What if you eat the Bible?
My bunny takes it too literal.

Bunnies are not noted for their incisive theology :p
