What do you like about Autumn?

Autumn is a great time of year IMHO. I like how the temperatures get cooler but not really cold till late Autumn. I love the changing of colors of the leaves on the trees. I love the pumpkins on peoples porches along with the scarecrows. Love apple cider with a cinnamon stick in it!!

What I like most about autumn, is it means summer is over.

Here, the sky becomes blue, rather than white with haze and the oppressive heat and humidity lets loose its grip, putting a bounce in my step. The night finally becomes longer than the daylight and the night reigns until spring.

I do kind of miss the autumn of more temperate climates, like I experienced as a kid growing up in Indiana. We had a large Fall Festival, and Indian Summer apple cider (we had lots of local apple orchards and an Indian Summer plant in town) would hit the store shelves. People would rake their leaves and burn them, and the smell would carry through the neighborhood. As Jack Frost began to nip at us, I loved the smell of moth balls at school, coming from the winter clothes that people had stored during the spring/summer.

I LOVE Autumn!!

I love waking up in the morning and feeling the cool breeze through the windows and being snuggled in a heavy comforter not wanting to move! I used to love pumpkin everything until I became allergic to it in my thirties.

I LOVE Halloween and the decorations and the fun. I can't have chocolate anymore so that's sad.

Sometimes it's as nice as Summer.


I'm largely opposed to seasons. It should be summer during the day and fall at night. Daytime should be 75-80, 25-50% humidity, sunny, no clouds, slight breeze. Night should be in the 60's. 50% humidity. Slight breeze. If the heater or AC is needed, the weather is bad.

Anything else is to be avoided and lamented.

I like autumn because it means the oppressive heat of summer is behind us and I can get out and hike again. It's no fun hiking any distance on steep hills when the heat and humidity are so oppressive. Now it's getting cooler I can dust off my hiking boots and hit the trails once more.

It's also good to see the beautiful scenery, watching the trees slowly turn. It's great for photography.

In many ways I really like winter - the snow can be incredibly photogenic. It's just a shame it's usually so cold that taking pictures of the snow becomes an exercise in endurance.

autumn is a good sign that soon, this dry hot weather will be replaced with moist air..we would be so lucky to receive any rains, i doubt it. the earth is very parched, in my neck of the woods

I like autumn. I don't care much for the extreme heat of summer but do get tired of pumpkin in everything. And I get to wear my outdoor clothes and stink of a heady cocktail of sweat, suncream and DEET when I go out hiking in the woods.
