A relationship with Him and He living in me. I was sick of my life and myself, so I said: here, You may live in my body.

Justification: Looking to Christ as Savior. HE is THE Savior - in whom I have life (abuntantly here, eternally hereafter), forgiveness, mercy and unconditional love. For all eternity, I will respond with absolute humility knowing my absolute unworthiness and need for repentance and faith, on my knees at the foot of the Cross, crying: Christ, have mercy on me. Confident, He does.

Sanctification: Then looking to Christ as Lord. As one whom He has adopted as His own and gifted me with faith, as my Abba whom I love, HE is my Lord - who leads and empowers me to grow in Him, His love and the fruits of the Spirit because of His great, great love. I am His own because He has made me His own, and in response, I have His strength to live and love and serve as such: never perfectly, but I strive to make that my own.

Pax CHRISTI

My faith does not look to me. I cannot save myself. My faith does not have faith in faith.

My faith grasps onto the Savior and His forgiveness won for me at the cross and is given to me by His Word. My faith trusts in what God has done, is doing and will still do for me so that I have perfect peace and live my life with love and gratefulness because I have been given these things from Him.

Christian Faith is about Jesus.

Your faith is about ... you otherwise you would not have called it "your faith", right?

faith is individual just as our walks are so it is individual. Each of us has to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling or at least that is what the word says

I know that I call it "my faith" because God gave it to me and it's what I cling to. It's not my mom's faith or my pastor's faith even though our faith clings to the same thing, the Savior and forgiveness.

There is a difference between faith and religion. Faith is personal. Religion is a theory and practice.

We all got the measure of faith. His faith is the gift of faith. When you pray for someone and all of a sudden believe it totally, supernaturally, a miracle happens and then after that you might even doubt it yourself, but it was His faith that did it. If it's your own faith you need to build it by hearing and confessing the Word.

How on earth could it be about me since I never claimed to have faith in me but in Jesus only and of myself? As someone else wrote already it's my faith because it was given to me and God is growing my faith daily and building me up because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

What is YOUR faith about MoreCoffee? Are you trusting in Jesus soley or are you a part of that trying to trust in yourself as well so that you may have eternal life since some of your posts are about works righteousness for salvation instead of the Savior who died for you.

The Faith is not mine except insofar as I have inherited it by God's acts of grace towards me and by the teaching and ministry of the Catholic Church.

CCC 158 "Faith seeks understanding": it is intrinsic to faith that a believer desires to know better the One in whom he has put his faith, and to understand better what He has revealed; a more penetrating knowledge will in turn call forth a greater faith, increasingly set afire by love. The grace of faith opens "the eyes of your hearts" to a lively understanding of the contents of Revelation: that is, of the totality of God's plan and the mysteries of faith, of their connection with each other and with Christ, the centre of the revealed mystery. "The same Holy Spirit constantly perfects faith by his gifts, so that Revelation may be more and more profoundly understood." In the words of St. Augustine, "I believe, in order to understand; and I understand, the better to believe."

It's mostly about others. I'm already saved. They're not. I wish I'd become like that man from the revival in Wales. Lord kick me awake please.

Correct. But you can pull out God's Word and show your Savior (Jesus, not the bible)! :D

and i could never get let this one go by,,, lol.

the quote is attributed to Francis of Assisi - it is most commonly used to encourage people to live a good life and to appease people who feel bad that they dont actually preach the gospel to any one.

hence- "preach the gospel use words if necessary -
HOW EVER .. Francis of Assist never said it !
. it is a paraphrase of a small PART of what he said , quoted out of context .
for he was a man known to stand on stairs ,boxes and any platform he could find and from which to loudly preach the Gospel and every opportunity .
all he was saying is that he expected those who also did so,, to make sure the lives they lived matched the words they preached .. he never intended it to be used as a means by which to excuse any one from the preaching of the Gospel .

as that would be to directly oppose the great commission.

-not opposing you bill , -just saying ,so you know :)

So it is your faith?

Objectively it is the faith of the church - that is to say, the content of the faith is the Church's. The act of faith is mine by the enabling grace of God (I believe, help thou mine unbelief[SUP]*[/SUP]). The content of the faith is the doctrine and moral teaching of the Church.

*Mark 9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
