My advice to you. Read the word of God several times. The 4 gospels telling the story of what happened that week.

Pay attention to the details.
What is the meaning of each Greek word. That was the original language. Translations have errors.

whom do you speak of when you say 'the true " JESUS " ?

most here do hold some level of allegiance to the Jesus who is the word of God made manifest in the flesh, who was with God before the creation of the world and by whom all things were made ...
most here adhere to his teachings in varying degrees, but not all here Follow him or know him . they know OF him .. big difference
but what do YOU mean by saying "get to know the TRUE Jesus .

First the colored glasses must come off. Then scripture needs to be seen in its natural Jewish setting..but that one is too hard to imagine. It would take our Jewish Messiah working on the heart, to convert the soul before that happens. When the colored glasses come off, then all the rest will make sense.

i love Israel, i know of gods love for them and promises to them .I dont mean what i say to sound anti Israel in any form at all .
but they barely understand the scriptures themselves without the holy Spirit .before Paul's revelation by the lord he also had no concept whatsoever of Christ ,even though they were supposedly waiting for him .
thus i challenge the need for any Jewish setting as a basis for understanding scripture . who we need is the holy Spirit .

understanding a Jewish mindset may aid me in understanding the reactions of the Jewish MEN in their response to the lord JESUS ..but it wont give me an understanding of God or his word .. that's what the Holy Spirit is sent to do . and he is not Jewish .

The first day printed on the left side is Sunday (Name pays homage to the Sun). The last one on the right is Saturday (The name pays homage to Saturn)

Jewish people still celebrate on the last day of the week, day seven, called the Sabbath so as to no pay respect to any other gods. Sabbath is the day of rest when God, our creator, rested from His work of Creation.

Now His son, Jesus, rested from His work of Redemption on the Sabbath day, the last day of the week - not the first.

People go to church on Sunday. The problem is that they do not know the truth. They have deceived by the enemy of God. They react like faithful sheep's and follow the leader without checking the word themselves. They buy anything is thrown their way. They DO NOT KNOW Jesus.

Where is Jesus now?
Not here on earth.

But there is a book that represents Him. If you want to know him. You could do the following:

1. Read the book
2. Study it
3. Understand it
4. Do what it tells you to do

Those are the basics.

I know that saturday is sabbath but I am not a politician, neither a pastor who can change it and let the meeting be on saturday. I asked my pastor if we could keep it on saturday. He said no, then noone will come. Thing is a century ago Holland was christian and christian politicians made sunday a rest day, so everyone visits their family or does fun things with the kids on saturday. Suppose we changed it, then other churches would have to change it too. We couldn't ever visit my parents anymore. Grandma is in church today. And everyone has that. Now if it was really a big deal with God I'd go to another church, but it isn't. Some observe Jewish feasts and sabbath, some don't. Don't judge another's servant.
I have thought about going to a Messianic church with the kids a few years back, but then I looked on their website. LOL the kids had to learn Hebrew there in the kid's service. It's like telling an orthodox Jew who just accepted Jesus as Messiah to now go eat pork and throw the text 'come on Peter slaughter and eat' at him and say that now he has to go to church on sunday. Makes no sense.

The Lord's Day is not Sunday.

Just the name of it is pagan and pays Homage to the Sun, NOT THE SON.

The Sun was created by God.

If you believe on Sunday, you are worshiping the creation and not the Creator

The Sabbath is the seventh day, is the day of rest and it's name pays HOMAGE to God.

Why? The Sabbath day is reminding us of His work of Creation and is Him who created ALL things and rested on the seventh day.

If you worship the sun you don't even go to the meeting. We had people in church who wouldn't come in July and august to the meeting or Bible study or prayer meetings. They had to sit in the sun and get a tan. When you have your quiet time with God and when you go to a service has got nothing to do with it.

I really do not know why people want to get into this Hebrew/Jewish is great mentality. I don't see anything terrible about Jews or Muslims but I am not going to abandon Christianity so I can fit in with some Imam or Rabbi on sabbath keeping, feasts, pork being evil and unclean etcetera. If some folk want to do that fine, let them, only don't try to brow beat me into doing the same. I am very happy as a Catholic and I like Sunday mass and week day masses too. I like bacon, and I don't get all in worked up about people eating shrimp (prawns). I don't see what good it does to go around Christian chat boards and tell everybody that the only way to "DO IT RIGHT" is to do it the way that I do. Seems kind of weird. If a chap reckons that Sunday is the day for worshipping God "great" I say, I like Sunday worship and Monday worship, and Tuesday worship ... all the way to Saturday worship. My parish church has mass every day of the week and four times on Sunday - it's wonderful.

I use the terms to make a differentiation from RCC catholism, which is the subject of the post.

THE MAIN DISCUSSION HERE IS THE CASE FOR SUNDAY

It is based on the premise that Jesus (Yeshua) was risen (anestemi) on the first day of the week.

We have been discussing this issue in the English language but the original language that described the events of Jesus death and resurrection were written in: Koinonia Greek.

Jesus was born (came to Earth) a jew from the tribe of Juda. Not in Israel, that country was not in existence at the time.

He spoke Hebrew and Aramaic.

The description of the events that happened during that week (shabbaton) that tells us the story of His death and resurrection was written in Greek.

Scholars have taken the Textus Receptus as the bases for translation to other languages. (The Septuagint is a compendium of 70 writers)

So if we know something about the original language that gave this event to the world, why not review it. Those events of that week were not written originally in English, German, Chinese, Tagalog, Portuguese, Spanish, or any other language.

These events happened about 2,000 years ago and in Judea. The people there spoke Hebrew. But the New Testament (NT=Textus Receptus) was in Greek.

WHY GREEK, WE MAY ASK?
Because when the NT was written, the Greek language was spoken all around and it was a common denominator language. Thus the message of Jesus could spread easily and be understood by all those people living around that part of the world.

So knowing the original language of the written word and of the customs of the times is IMPORTANT.

WHY?

IT WILL MAKE THINGS EASIER TO UNDERSTAND BECAUSE WE ARE DOING IT IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE AND A LOT OF IDEAS AND MEANINGS HAVE BEEN LOST IN THE TRANSLATIONS

When presenting something in any forum, in your own life, don't just bring it out of the air, back up your statements with inteligent answers. Back it up with words from the word of God. Scholars have said that the Bible explains itself. We just need to find the answers inside the word of God. It is HIS message.

Has anybody made a STRONG case for the Sunday?

The people of that time did not know what Sunday meant. They knew that there was a day of the week called: first day of week. So they were not paying homage to any other gods and they did the same thing with the other days. The last day was called "shabbat=sabbath", in their language. We call it now with the word "Saturday." And this word pays homage to Saturn, a pagan custom. Paying homage to the creation and not the Creator.

I believe that there are several posters here waiting to see a STRONG presentation in favor of "THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK", not Sunday.

you dont see anything terrible about muslims ? i suppose you speak of human beings .and hope you dont speak of islam .though iv heard tell of that man that calls himself pope saying otherwise .but he does not speak of or for the god of the bible .
