Alithis we need more people over here as I think they are ganging up on you, lets work on gettins some more that believe as we do or else just mark certain threads denom only maybe

Nobody is ganging up on a person, merely addressing the points (or lack of points) being made. If a point is sound it can be defended, if a point is not sound then you could have 1000 people plugging it and it still wouldn't be sound.

Why would you want to mark the thread as denomination only? Seriously, if you want to form a huddle and agree on everything there's little point having the discussion and if you want to avoid having a teaching tested you might do well to ask why. And just to be clear, that applies to any teaching regardless of which denomination(s) happen to like it.

It does seem to be a recurring theme that the only arguments put forward by the proponents of some of these theories are utterly generic and could be copied word-for-word to provide comparable support for just about any theory. Whenever an argument supports both one theory and its exact opposite it does suggest the argument itself is somewhat lacking in substance.

Discussion is one thing but you and Hammster take it to a new level, at least for me, I do not want to debate every point or have a post dissected word by word. If you notice I dont post near as much in serious threads as I used to so in a way you are getting agreement without using a tag I guess.

Seems to me that tango is generally rather polite and good in discussion.

It appears to me that you just want to post your opinion without being questioned. I don't think that's how it works.

So how do you explore a teaching to discover its merits (or lack thereof) without looking at it in detail?

It's a serious question, if you don't want a teaching to be tested you might do well to ask why. And if a post is dissected and found unsound you are entirely free to explain why you consider it to be sound. I'm not overly bothered one way or the other about agreement - you've probably noticed that sometimes I disagree with you and sometimes I agree with you. MoreCoffee posted in my defence although I've disagreed with MC in other threads (primarily threads about Catholicism), MarkFL likes a lot of my posts even though his fundamental theological view is totally different to my own.

Seriously, what sort of discussion would you expect on a Christian message board? Part of it will be about which hymns or songs we prefer, exchanging clean jokes, critiquing movies and the like. But many discussions will provoke disagreement, at which point surely the best thing to do is go to Scripture and seek the truth, no? But that doesn't work unless both sides offer a reasoned argument that is specific to the point they are trying to make. When an argument could be lifted word-for-word and used to support the exact opposite position one has to question whether it has any value at all.

The problem lies with meaning to passages which we can both see differently as well as personal experiences which some discredit since they didnt see or experience them which I find telling as without faith it is impossible to please God. Your idea of disagreement and diseccting posts shuts down a discussion with people that are like me but between you and ather like minded might actually be good discussion but I dont like double speak such as with OSAS where if they fall away they were never saved and so on. That to me is fruitless discussion so in the end I justy back away from these discussions, of course then one member will try to bully a response by saying oh they couldnt handle it or they did not respond and so on, to me that is bullying and I wont respond to that or to anyone that employs these tactics

This reminds me of the time when Yeshua was walking along with his disciples, and they lag behind a little ways to discuss who is going to have the right or left side of Yeshua when he comes into His Kingdom. We are really just like them... lagging behind to argue... still really clueless, seeing in the glass darkly, as to what is really going on. ... Blood moons is just a clue, ... a heads up... and we should watch and see if this time is the start of the end times. .. If the start of 3 1/2 years was the tetred Passover 2014 ..that will bring us to the fall of 2017.... Do you not think it strange that the Pope makes a trip to the US, UN? on Tom Kippur?... You do realize that what is said in public, is not what is said or done in private.

Where does scripture say that the blood moons are a clue?

Where does scripture say that the blood moons are a clue?
Joe 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

Act 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

So according to Peter, Joel was fulfilled, if you read all he said.

Next.

The problem lies with meaning to passages which we can both see differently

That doesn't really wash unless you're going to present some relevant Scripture. I'm not seeing any Scripture to indicate why this particular blood moon means anything at all, let alone suggestions as to just what it might mean.

as well as personal experiences which some discredit since they didnt see or experience them which I find telling as without faith it is impossible to please God.

Nobody is disputing that specific quote from Scripture. The problem is you're talking of a blind faith that requires nothing other than a third-hand account of something Very Unusual. If I told you I saw dancing unicorns praising God at the end of my back yard would you believe me, or would you question it? If you believe it, how much more absurd does my claim have to be before you stop believing? If you don't believe it, how do you reconcile that with your recurring quote that without faith it is impossible to please God?

Nobody disputes that without faith we cannot please God. The problem with the endless use of the verse is when it is misapplied. If you have blind faith in my outlandish claim of dancing unicorns you're not going to please the God who breathed the Scripture to "test all things". All apples are fruit but not all fruit are apples. We must have faith to please God but the faith must be well placed. We can't go round blindly accepting everything we hear from every source and then patting ourselves on the back because we've got the kind of faith that pleases God. That would be like saying we need liquid to survive, and so offering a man lost in the desert a cool refreshing drink of carbon tetrachloride because he needs liquid to survive. He does need liquid to survive, but carbon tetrachloride isn't the liquid he needs.

Your idea of disagreement and diseccting posts shuts down a discussion with people that are like me

Why does it shut down a discussion to disagree? Why does it shut down a discussion to ask someone to put some substance into a post and address the issue rather than using endless deflection tactics that don't answer the question and arguments so vague they could be used to support any position.

Or, put another way, what sort of disagreement with a post doesn't shut down a discussion with people that are like you?

but between you and ather like minded might actually be good discussion but I dont like double speak such as with OSAS where if they fall away they were never saved and so on.

More deflection right here. What has OSAS got to do with it, and where is the doublespeak other than on the extreme Pentecostal side? If arguments are riddled with doublespeak (or doublethink, or whatever else you want to call it) they are usually pretty easy to dismantle.

That to me is fruitless discussion so in the end I justy back away from these discussions, of course then one member will try to bully a response by saying oh they couldnt handle it or they did not respond and so on, to me that is bullying and I wont respond to that or to anyone that employs these tactics

I'm not seeing a lot of that, although I am seeing an awful lot of deflection, vague comments that don't relate to the discussion at hand, and comments like "oh well I'll just leave you to it then" which suggests people wanting to post and not have anyone disagree with them.

Not a problem, I am sure you and other like minded can post and be happy in that, we do not have that freedom because if we limit discussion then we are "hiding" so as you say I will leave you to it.
