The original pronunciation is demonstrated well in a story of a tinker at work repairing pots and pans in days long gone by.

(Apologies if this was in the video. I normally don’t watch them.)

A well-to-do lady comes along and asks him: “Are you copper-bottoming ‘em, my man?”

He replies: “No. I’m aluminiuming ‘em, Mam.”

Seems like this is the kind of thread that's as futile as asking the correct way to spell the element with the symbol S. In the US it's "sulfur", in the UK it was always "sulphur" until fairly recently when it was decided to accept the US spelling. Which meant, among other things, that university professors found it harder to spot obviously plagiarised material when students submitted their work.

In the UK the element is spelled "aluminium" whereas I believe in the US it is spelled "aluminum" (i.e. the second I is missing). Based on the difference in spelling alone the difference in pronunciation makes a lot of sense.

STILL WRONG, even when, everyone around is-using the incorrect spelling

It's actually quite intriguing how it came to be –
first starting with Sir Humphry Davy's not being able to make a decision:
Sir Humphry made a bit of a mess of naming this new element, at first spelling it alumium (this was in 1807)
then changing it to aluminum, and finally settling on aluminium in 1812.8 Apr 2009
