With man it is impossible. God creates the Christian. If man rejects, he damns himself.

Being a Christian is about identity which points always to the Savior not to the man.

Do you need to accept Jesus as your Savior and invite him into your heart?

Yes and say the perfect prayer. Don't miss one sentence.

What do you mean the perfect prayer?

Just kidding. I was always afraid I'd leave one sentence out from the sinners prayer.

The modern day "accept Jesus into your heart" turns it into a work that man needs to do to contribute to his own salvation...in other words, he's in control of his future instead of realizing that it isn't a biblical concept.

We "receive" Jesus and acknowledge the forgiveness of sins won at the cross for us. That is passive which is a biblical stance. It's God saving us 100% because HE is our Savior.

One is saved by grace. Confession is - as they say - a fruit.

That is not a work but a requirement, Romans 10:9-10

You don't seem to realize that you're turning something into a requirement instead of seeing it as it's really written. A confession of faith isn't what saves. Faith doesn't grab onto the confession but the Savior. Realizing what Jesus has done is God working within you. You can only confess it because you first have faith in order to do so.

Yup which comes by conviction and it is still your choice to accept or reject and you reject unless you do Romans 10:9-10

First work?? like it takes work to have faith, so work in believing, so work in salvation?

But you will see that so many Evangelical Christians won't stop there by professing that Jesus is Lord, but rather the prayer is crafted to where the individual permits Jesus to be the Savior.
