Sprouted Wheat Gruel.

Basically - wheat that has been sprouted, crushed and very lightly simmered in water. I put a few spices in there but really I was aiming for something super simple that the poor would eat, or ancient peoples.

I had some breakfast cereal and milk this morning. It was nice, but it is more fun to cook things.

I had chicken, vegetable, and noodle soup (A Campbell's soup) for lunch today. I added some chilli sauce to give it a little "zing". It was nice.

I'm having tea.

Cinnamon, Cardamom, Ginger - sweetened with medjool date sugar.

Recipe for date sugar that is supposed to last a few weeks when refrigerated (I don't know as it's the first time I've made it) : https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Date-Sweetener

Hash browns, fairly large serving, prepared with a little oil, paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper and salt. I added a little bit of ketchup.

Starting to phase out all the prepared grain products in my diet in favor of true whole grains that will sprout (or sprouted products). Potato isn't a grain - but it is a seed of sorts - as you can just cut it up into pieces and plant them individually for more potatoes. Anyway - I have prepared bread and pasta still...haven't decided yet but thinking I may toss them or give them to a neighbor or something.

Sprouted brown rice and soaked lentil (cooked) with lettuce and sauce. I didn't make quite enough so afterward I had chickpea scramble. Now I am stuffed.

Finished off about half a veggie pizza made with sprouted wheat.

That, some potato and a few nibbles of flat bread I made from sprouted brown rice, sprouted chickpeas, arrowroot, potato starch and oil.

Now, I'm drinking beer - which is the one thing my friends seem to think cancels everything out. They're wrong! LOL.

The sprouted flatbread mentioned in the last post topped with lettuce, cooked potato, onion, salt and a dab of sesame seed oil. I made the flatbread rather thick compared to normal tortillas so in addition to being sprouted it is denser as well and very filling.

Coffee, freshly ground, with dark muscovado sugar and almond milk.

I didn't feel I needed it, and probably a mistake this late in the day - just wanted it. Coffee is not needed as a "pick me up" anymore as it was after meat meals. And I got fresh beans, as opposed to already ground - so that was my excuse.

I just finished a large plate of homemade chips (potatoes cut into strips and gently cooked (not fried) in a little oil with seasonings), some lettuce, half an avocado and a little tomato sauce.

Sprouted and cooked Basmati Brown Rice and Lentils - added to a bed of caramelized onion, garlic with added honey and soy sauce - then mixed with a little sesame seed oil, paprika, cayenne pepper, turmeric. Lettuce.

Tonight's dinner was simple and raw, except for the seasoning - sprouted lentils and sprouted black beans, with a mustard seasoning I made with oil and various spices. I read a few warnings online by people who apparently got violently sick from eating (sprouted black beans that haven't been cooked) - but so far it's been several hours and I'm ok. Just ok - because I did experience a little bloating - that might have to do with that not all the beans were fully sprouted and I did not rinse prior to eating.

I've been waiting to eat these black beans - after soaking it has been several days of waiting while I rinse them twice a day and finally seeing them sprout. They have a delectable flavor.

I am thinking that some sweet potato and potato mash with some onion and carrot and maybe peas and corn will make a nice lunch. I might cook some chicken for dinner. Oh ... I could make some gravy too :)
