I wonder if therse attacks on Pentecostals is driven by something else?
I don't think these are "attacks on Pentecostals", but rather some legitimate questions. Being "driven by the Spirit" is subjective - it's determined solely by the person. I've been in Pentecostal services where the Spirit was (supposedly) present, I lifted my hands, closed my eyes, raised my head, and... not a thing. I'd also had subjective emotional experiences in Pentecostal services where I was on the ground sobbing and making sounds that (most likely) came from a place of emotional pain of some sort.
The final experience I had in the Pentecostal church - the one that "broke the camel's back" so to speak - was where I was off to the side of the altar, quietly praying, and a woman caught up in an emotional fit came alongside me and was literally screaming in my ear. She was lost in a world of her own with another lady praying with her - but both seemed oblivious to the fact that she was screaming
directly in my ear. That was it, and I was gone. Shall we say that she was "driven by the Spirit"? She was driven by something, but I'm not sure it was that. For those that do ascribe to a Pentecostal experience, I'd advise reading Paul's letters and instructions on orderly worship and how these gifts are supposed to be used. I didn't see anything about screaming in someone's ear, but I did see something about "...decently and in order"
