I'm trying something I haven't before.
My finger wound - in which a large chunk of flesh was torn off (thankfully no tendons) is healing - but it's very very slow. It's been a few weeks and it still hurts when I stretch my finger and can still bleed a bit when I change the bandage.
I'm trying applying Turmeric paste (Turmeric plus a little water), then bandaging up as normal. Knew Turmeric was a super herb, but didn't think about applying directly to skin/wound before I read a few interesting articles. Hopefully this will help it heal faster. I guess I'll see.
Tonight's dinner is:
- one large onion
- one smallish sweet potato
- 400 g black beans (drained and washed)
- vegetable stock (1.5 cups)
- pepper (as much or as little as you like, I like lots)
- cooked in microwave for 9 minutes on high to bring it to the boil and then for 33 minutes on 30% power to cook the vegetables (after cooking the liquid will be down to about 1.25 cups)
- 1 cup couscous added to the cooked vegetables in stock
- wait for about 5 to 10 minutes to let the couscous absorb the water
- use a fork to break up any clumps of couscous.
Dinner's done. I suspect that this is vegan too and oil free. Adding a little red wine vinegar might be good.
PS: I forgot to say, it is deliciousI didn't add any vinegar, as a cold salad the vinegar would be good. I ate it hot.
Sounds yummy! Next time, try soaking the beans first overnight. Soaking them releases some of the "anti-nutrients" that can cause bloating and gas, as well as majorly reducing cooking time. You could cook it all by boiling it (better than nuking it imo).
