Summer vacation is almost over and now it's finally hot. We're at the local beach from a lake. Tomorrow morning we go on a holiday for a week. Tonight I have to pack and clean up because my dad comes tomorrow.

eating Italian ice cream in the sun. Glad my kids are here again. My morning grumpy cat mood is over.

I'm trying something I haven't before.

My finger wound - in which a large chunk of flesh was torn off (thankfully no tendons) is healing - but it's very very slow. It's been a few weeks and it still hurts when I stretch my finger and can still bleed a bit when I change the bandage.

I'm trying applying Turmeric paste (Turmeric plus a little water), then bandaging up as normal. Knew Turmeric was a super herb, but didn't think about applying directly to skin/wound before I read a few interesting articles. Hopefully this will help it heal faster. I guess I'll see.

This stuff genuinely works very well. It's been a little over 3 days now and the wound area has decreased significantly. There is a scab 2/3 the size of the original wound, with surrounding area completely healed. 3 days ago the whole area was tender and hurt. The Turmeric doesn't completely come off in the shower, even when I run my hand directly under the water. So I've just been putting more paste on for what does come off. Also been adding it to dishes to eat. At this rate my finger would have been healed over a week ago if I had started applying it right away.

Tonight's dinner is:
  • one large onion
  • one smallish sweet potato
  • 400 g black beans (drained and washed)
  • vegetable stock (1.5 cups)
  • pepper (as much or as little as you like, I like lots)
  • cooked in microwave for 9 minutes on high to bring it to the boil and then for 33 minutes on 30% power to cook the vegetables (after cooking the liquid will be down to about 1.25 cups)
  • 1 cup couscous added to the cooked vegetables in stock
  • wait for about 5 to 10 minutes to let the couscous absorb the water
  • use a fork to break up any clumps of couscous.

Dinner's done. I suspect that this is vegan too and oil free. Adding a little red wine vinegar might be good.

PS: I forgot to say, it is delicious :) I didn't add any vinegar, as a cold salad the vinegar would be good. I ate it hot.

Sounds yummy! Next time, try soaking the beans first overnight. Soaking them releases some of the "anti-nutrients" that can cause bloating and gas, as well as majorly reducing cooking time. You could cook it all by boiling it (better than nuking it imo).

It's almost 12 pm now. Time to clean up and pack. Why do it 3 days earlier when you can postpone it to the last moment and just miss out on sleep when you have to go on a holiday tomorrow.

Renske, you must've changed your username in the "CH Shop" unless an admin changed it for you. If you ever have any questions about using any site features, please feel free to PM me, and if I don't know I will find out and let you know. :)

Couldn't sleep anyway. Went to bed at 4 o'clock, woke at 7. Cleaned up just vacuum cleaned that thing is broken. Packed just all clothes from the washing machine whoop that'll do. We'll fold them there. 1 hour to go and then with the train to the holiday park. I really need a holiday. Oh the mess on the balcony I forgot. Well one hour left. My son is always amazed when I clean up. Mom dad says that'll take you 3 days to clean that up but you do it in half an hour. Yeah I know, I'm awesome.

We're in our holiday home. Kids love it. A free house in nature with hundreds the same around. They don't want to pick up their bike. They want to sit in the house. They're so happy we're not in that stupid apartment. It's worth the drive. My dad was waiting there with the bagage for an hour. He can drive again but he doesn't dare to drive them.

Enjoy your holiday, Tidy!!

I'm back from a lot of traveling. We dropped out daughter off at her internship and saw some family and it's good to finally be home.

Debating eternal subordination of the Son on another forum. The thread started out as another "wives must submit" thread. It's intense...
