Doing laundry and other fun stuff around the house.

I can trump that much fun. I stirred at 4:30 this morning and remembered we forgot to put the trash out. At first I wondered what we'd do with the extra trash by the next collection but then figured it wasn't too late to put it out anyway, so I crept downstairs without waking my wife or letting the cat upstairs, got at least most of it put out (I didn't bother with the smaller trash baskets around the house) and then went back to bed.

Now I''m just letting lunch go down before going for a walk. It's sunny but cooler than the last few days.

And here I thought you were going to finish the story with you getting locked out of the house so early in the morning and being a nice guy you waited in the morning chill for your wife to wake up :D

Nope.... not only was the story not that interesting but we also have a Super Secret Hidden Key for just such occasions. That was the result of when my wife and I went for our walk and upon getting home finding out I'd picked up the spare key to my friend's house and not the key to our house. Thankfully a friend who watches the house while we're away still had a spare key and we only had to wait about half an hour for her to come to the rescue.

I make it a habit of grabbing my key whenever I walk outside...even if it's to go get the mail. I know how easy it is to lock that door without thinking! I haven't done it in 30 years but once is enough :D Now when I had my garden I wouldn't take my key but I would make sure I had 2 doors unlocked. That's going to change now because of people breaking into homes. I might put a nail in the tree near my garden to hang the key on LOL

Where I have my key hidden is a place that unless you really know me and how I think you'd never think to look there. Even if you were searching for a key you probably wouldn't look there. If I told gave you a 10-foot radius and said it was within the radius you probably still wouldn't find it.

When my wife does work in the garden she usually goes in and out through a side door. I go in and out through the back door and lock it. The single key is pretty small, it fits neatly into a pocket and has no markings on it at all so there's nothing to indicate where it came from, if I ever should lose it.

Just kicking back and relaxing with a beer. First beer in a week.... it's been an interesting week. Hopefully I can share some more details before long.

Entertaining our weekend visitor. Might be a bit scarce.

My husband and I went for a walk to see the cows. They were all out and we got to see the calves, the heifers and the dairy cows. The bulls in the barn let us know they saw us too!

Our visitor has gone, and my wife and I took the chance to take a leisurely walk this afternoon. We thought we were going to have to cut the walk short as it started to rain about a mile in. At the point our 5-mile route and 3-mile route diverge it had stopped so we decided to go for the longer one, knowing we had another bail-out option a little further in. As it happened the sun came out so we pressed on and walked five miles, albeit at a slower pace than normal.

Now I need to try and get my thoughts together to write an article for our church newsletter.

We walked to see the cows yesterday at an Amish farm. I got some good photos.

Today it's laundry day.

My wife is having coffee with a friend of hers so I'm going out for a walk. I can get a longer faster walk in when she's not with me. I like walking with her, but sometimes like the freedom to lay down some more power and push harder.

Howdy sup there guys man! How are you today? Today, I’ve just had my usual weekly 3 hours therapy session both online and by phone. Tonight, just resting in bed before hitting the pillow.

Got a second walk in, although a much shorter one. My morning walk was a little over 8 miles and after lunch my wife decided she wanted to go for a shorter walk, so we did our loop that's a little under 3 miles. Apparently I've chalked up 223 activity minutes today so far, so I may yet go for another fast walk to try and tip it over 300. Because, you know, why not?

My wife had a haircut so I got another longer walk in. I pushed the speed yesterday and pushed a bit harder today, setting a new personal best time for walking that route. I only shaved about 6 seconds per mile off yesterday's time but it all counts. Now I've got a total of 398 minutes of activity this week and it's only Tuesday. If the weather stays reasonable I might be able to really get some good numbers in before our weekend visitor arrives.

Haven't posted in here, but thought I would start. After a short night of sleep, I went to get my hair done. Came home, had lunch and then went to the doctor to check out a cyst on my back, my painful ankle and my A1c. A1c was perfect. He tried to drain out the cyst, but apparently no more was coming after what we did. Will watch that. Seems Arthur (arthritis) and come to my ankle also. That makes both knees and one ankle. Once my prescription takes effect, I will be back on the walking routine. I need to get back to the 2-3 miles a day routine.
