Hello morning all! How are you? Today, as it’s a freezing cold, really wet and completely dark and gloomy day again outside, feeling like 13C again today, just enjoying the movie “A Cinderella Story” on Netflix before falling asleep tonight.

I wanted to go for a longer walk this morning but my wife didn't want to go longer than our usual 5 mile route, so we did that. I wanted to beat last month's step total and 5 miles wasn't enough so I was thinking what else I might do. Then this afternoon my head got in a funk so I went for a long walk to try and clear my thoughts. I set off with a water bottle and only a vague idea of where I might walk. A little under 12 miles later I got back home having drunk all my water, refilled my bottle at church and drunk half of the refill, and with a much clearer head. Now I just hope it lasts. Along the way I trashed last month's step total.

I don't know if it's going to rain yet to know if I'll get out and walk. It was really dark outside moments ago.

It's another glorious day today here. Sunny, a little cool but not too cool. My wife is meeting a friend of hers so I might go and take my walk while she's out. Having set a personal best (at least since I bought my current tracker) for daily steps yesterday and monthly steps, it looks like this week should also put paid to my weekly steps record as well.

Hey sup guys! How are ya all doing today? Today, since it’s an overcast, chilly and wet day outside, feeling like 17C today, just enjoying my usual TV show on YouTube premium before turning myself in tonight.

Having done my 8-mile loop by myself this morning my wife wanted to go for a walk this afternoon, so I did the 5-mile loop with her. That makes over 30 miles in two days for me. Surprisingly my legs are mostly OK but my feet feel like they've been worked hard. My sneakers have very little tread left on them. They are barely four months old but I've already put something like 600 miles on them.

Major pig out day today. The local ice cream shop was doing a special flavor so I had an extra large bowl of that because they close for the season soon and it's my last chance to do that. Then went to a party for my friend's child this evening and ended up eating more pizza than I originally planned.

We have something digging in the yard again. I think it's some kind of vole. I'm reluctant to poison them as I don't like the thought of the poison getting higher up in the food chain (specifically into things like hawks and eagles) but can't have these things trashing my yard.

I think they're in our yard too. We had them when we first moved in and I think the neighbor's cats got to them. It's been 4 years since I last saw one but now there are signs they're back. Either that or plain old moles? Both create tunnels in the yard.

I tried regular poison for them and it wasn't hugely effective. Then I found some stuff that looks like regular seeds but they are green. It's made by Tomcat and cost about $45 for a good sized container. I was a bit leery of spending that much but it works really well - that container has last me two years and I still have some left.

Sometimes squirrels stick their heads into the holes to get at the bait, so it gets rid of some of them too. As I mentioned before my only real concern is the potential for it to end up harming the higher predators.

Howdy morning all! How are you? Today, I’ve just had my usual 3 hours therapy session by phone and online. Tonight, I’m indeed really way too exhausted to do anything else but rest in bed before hitting the pillow.

Going to drive an hour to get my free oil change & tire rotation! I hate the drive but it's free since I bought the car from that dealership.
