Debating a walk around town or a hike in the mountains. My wife is out with friends tomorrow so I might shift the hike until then.

Howdy sup there! How are ye all doing today? Last night, been browsing on mydramalist.com to fin a new TV show to binge-watch for free online. And today, I've found : "The Queen of Attacks", a new and hot most recently finished airing time-traveling historical romance Chinese TV show to enjoy before hitting the pillow tonight.

Being lazy this evening.

 

[tango]

I ended up doing two walks. One walk with my wife at a pace she found just a little bit of a challenge, then sorted out a bit of an IT-related mess at church. This evening my wife was at one of her fitness classes so I went for another walk. I've clocked over 30 miles of walking so far this month and that's only counting specific "walking" activities on my tracker.

Tomorrow I'm planning on spending some time in the mountains, then I'll probably need to have another look at what's left to finish off at church.

Woke up to a text...we ruined my daughter's dog when we were pet sitting because now she's back home and is still waking up at 5:30 am. Ooopsie.

Happy Friday all! How are you? Today, just relaxing online before hitting the bed tonight.

We ran some errands then went out to eat for lunch. I'm still so full.

I had some more stuff to see to at church, then got into the mountains for a hike. Today I pushed the pace a little, increased my average pace about 5% from the last time.

Got my walk in this afternoon, then had some friends around to watch a parade. This morning my wife was out with a friend for breakfast so I got to shifting some stuff around.

Assuming everything will fit, and I think it will, my wife and I are going to move out of our bedroom into the spare room, move the dressers with us and move our clothes from a closet in our room to a closet just off the spare room. That will mean I can gut our room, get it insulated and also pour some cellulose insulation into the wall cavities of the room below. I would rather get some more rooms fixed up before I trash another one but the price of heating oil went up 50% so I'm keen to make any savings I can there and, since I'd plan to fix up our room anyway, it's just bringing a piece of work forward a bit.

Hello afternoon all! This morning, just gone to my ECG. The afternoon, just resting in bed before heading the sack tonight.

My wife and I went out for breakfast, which was nice. I planned a walk for the afternoon but everything felt strong so I alternated walking and running. It was just as well I did because a couple of minute after I got home the heavens opened and it rained hard for half an hour. I'm glad I wasn't caught up in that.

Then this evening we went to hang out with a friend we haven't seen in a while. All in all it's been a good day.

Another walk/run this morning. No speed records because it was hot and my legs didn't have as much to give as I had hoped but got round in a reasonable time. Then I cleaned up my wife's mountain bike. She has a ride planned with a friend but the bike hasn't moved for a couple of years, so I cleaned all the gunk off it, cleaned and lubed the cassette and chain and pumped up the tires. So far today I've soaked two shirts with sweat.

Next up is a visit to the hardware store. The box I had all my bike tools in has cracked - it was only a cheap plastic box - so I think it's time to get something a little more sturdy. It's a hassle having to carry a bunch of things out of the basement in my hands.

For good measure I've got another fun job to look forward to - the valve that controls the outside tap is broken and the only way to replace it involves shutting off the water to the entire house. While I've got everything shut off I might as well put a couple more stop valves in, even if only as a precaution in case anything else fails that I'll need to look at.

We were away for a few days at a convention in Cleveland and got home this afternoon.

 

[tango]

I decided to leave the plumbing work until tomorrow. Because I'm going to need to operate the valves that turn off water to the entire house and I have absolutely no idea when they were last touched I'd rather figure out fallback options in case I need to turn the water on and off at the street to replace those as well.

I know for a fact the valves haven't been touched for at least 13 years and it's probably significantly longer than that. The valve I need to replace had been left for so long I needed a wrench to turn it because it had jammed, so it's not entirely surprising it is broken. While I'm doing the work I can get rid of an unused end, and recover a 1/2" press-on doodad to close off an open pipe end.

Got up early to get groceries before the big heat starts outside. No walking outside today for me.
