Aaaaaand back to church, again. Fourth time in church in four days, what with getting everything organised last week. Sometimes it seems I could sell my house and just find a room at church to live in

It was a good service, the person opening had some really good points and the sermon was good. Lots of gems in there that were very relevant to us.

Good morning all, had about 10 hours sleep last night, breakfast is a peanut butter sandwich and my morning coffee.

 

[Lamb]

Lots of appointments this week...can't wait until they're done. Eating breakfast now and trying to get laundry done and other stuff as well before I head out.

Wet and dreary weather today so I'm forecasting some more work on the house. Maybe this week I'll get out to walk in the woods. I really wanted to last week but had too much other stuff on. It's been a couple of weeks since I took a long walk.

My cold is almost gone, so I'm happy for that. Going to go to a couple of schools today and have lunch with one of my clients at his school

One appointment completed...it went well and I go back in 9 months instead of 6. Yay!

My son is being admitted to the hospital today due to sickness and stuff related to his diabetes

Joy of joys, I got to do some more grinding. Thankfully it was a small area, but I can't say I was thrilled when I realised what was needed. Now I'm putting stuff back together ready to fit the last few insulation panels to the room. Taking a quick breather while I wait for some foam to dry, then I can measure and cut the last panels. From there I can look at taking a door frame out, and get my friend ready to help with the drywalling.

I now have all the insulation panels cut and fitted into the room I'm working on. It has a small closet, so small it's not much use for anything, so it's coming out. I took the door off and removed the door trim inside it (why someone put a fancy door trim around the inside, then painted it a nasty color is beyond me, but there you go). Tomorrow I'm going to see about getting the rest of the door frame removed and putting a stud down the middle. Then it's ready to drywall over the top. The back side of the closet is the adjacent room, so when that room gets destroyed the closet will be history. Which will be nice....

Doing my laundry and enjoying a day off before I have to go to Mid Week Advent Prayer Services tonight.

Guess my day will include more time taking apart a door frame. Part of the frame inside the closet splintered when I took it off, hopefully nothing more will get trashed.

Good night all, been to therapy, am exhausted. Resting till dinner and falling asleep tonight.

Doing my laundry and enjoying a day off before I have to go to Mid Week Advent Prayer Services tonight.

Days off are awesome! But laundry can be no fun...except the joy of clean clothes!

I eventually managed to get my door frame removed, and without trashing it which was nice. It's 100-year-old red oak, so I really don't want to ruin it. Then I figured I could botch some fiberglass together in the ceiling cavity to try and stem the heat loss. The heat loss shouldn't be huge because the room below doesn't have a radiator in it, but obviously the cold air gets further into the house than I really want. Now I've left a heater in there to see how easy it is to warm up, and how fast it cools down again. With insulation panels all around, the windows properly sealed etc, I'm hoping it's orders of magnitude better than it used to be.
