Light lunch after church. It was a good service, with some good discussion at our Sunday school class beforehand. Now debating whether to have a moderately lazy or a bone idle afternoon

It was youth Sunday today so the youth led the service including the preaching.
My cat Molly has been sick so I am taking her back to vet today to get a shot

We made the ravioli for Thanksgiving dinner and then went for a walk. Waiting for the ravioli to dry so I can freeze them.

On first reading I thought you said you were taking your cat to the vet to get shot. Glad to see the previously overlooked "a"!

I got my piece of cable connected to the breaker panel, on a nice new breaker. It's currently turned off at the breaker because what's on the other end isn't finished. Getting the other end connected to something useful is a lot less fiddly than getting a cable into the breaker panel, so I can do that even if my eyes are feeling a little fuzzy after working in a random space. Chances are as a stopgap I'll just use some wire nuts to create a generic socket that is easy to screw to the side of a stud and easy to disconnect when I've got something more permanent in place - it works and hopefully it won't be long before I can get drywall in there and I can do it properly. Doing it properly means joining up all the pieces of cable, and putting outlets at each of the joins. Then my first room will be livable, although for the shorter term it might have an electric heater in there rather than a hot water radiator.

Good morning all, had about 11 hours sleep last night, enjoying an apple-cinnamon bread for breakfast and my morning coffee.

My daughters cat who lives with us nearby hung himself last night from the strand of lights on the Christmas tree. So, we decided to take the tree down so he is not tempted to climb it or accidentially hang himself. He is fine now.

Disturbed night last night, so glad I got the cable into the breaker panel when I had a clearer head than I do now. Maybe today I'll just get busy trimming the last few panels to size. I'm really keen to get this one room finished - it will be a huge morale booster after all the setbacks and problems I've had in there.

I really wanted to put some sound blocking material behind the drywall but it turns out the stuff costs nearly $400 for a roll with shipping extra. I'd need three rolls for this one room, and there's no point doing this room unless I'm going to a bunch of other rooms as well. I really want to deaden the road noise, but don't know whether I really want to add that much to the overall renovation budget. Of course the eternal question is one of how far around the house I'd really need to go - obviously I want to kill the road noise as much as possible but don't want to spend loads of money blocking sound where it's not necessary but neither do I want to spend thousands on blocking only to find the whole lot is compromised because I missed a patch.

Maybe I'll just get busy with a tape measure and figure out just how much of this stuff I'm going to want, and make a one-time decision based on the total cost. It would be really cool to dull the noise, some of the trucks that go by are really loud.

They actually didn't do that either because they said she is doing well without one of the meds to just stop giving it to her

Got back from my cat scan this morning. The tube that feeds the contrast dye from the machine into my arm broke free from the machine and was squirting all over me. So sticky!

Good afternoon all, sipping an iced white mocha and a hot mokacino. Lunch is leftovers with orange juice. Doing aroma therapy and music therapy till dinner and calling it a day tonight.

Just finished a few phone calls, now time to get busy cutting insulation panels. It's sunny today which is always nice. It's a real drag working with blinds down when it's gloomy. I prefer to keep the blinds down because I'd rather not have the local gossips and busybodies seeing the room that's totally gutted.

Good morning all, been sleeping for about 11 hours in all last night, breakfasting on my usual and my morning coffee.

Didn't get my panels done, got some wiring work done instead. I got sick of tripping over a 25-foot extension cord so decided to connect everything and turn the breaker on, Now I have a nice new cable run around the room with three double sockets on it, all working. This means I can get rid of the extension cord and plug things in where I need them, rather than trying to get everything routed to one place. Two sockets are right by the windows which means I can put a fan in either window if I need to pump dust or other debris out.

Hopefully from here it will be a quick job to finish the panels and tape the seams, then I'll be ready to drywall it. The end is fast approaching!

Just home from seeing 'Joker'. Quite an excellent but disturbing film. Joaquin Phoenix deserves an Oscar for this one.
