Sluggish morning, making a few phone calls that resulted in promises of callbacks but no actual callbacks yet (not necessarily a bad thing, I know the people are hugely busy). Then got a walk around town in because the weather forecast looks like it might be the last chance for several days. And then (drum roll) I got to cutting some panels. I had to skip one section because I spotted a gap in the mortar I'd created and overlooked when filling them, but got a load of other bits done. It's starting to look nice now, with the vast majority of the wall a nice silver color where the panels are sitting.
I've got the window wells to fill yet, and that will involve a little dismantling work so it can wait until tomorrow. The dismantling means removing the blind, which means anyone passing can see in, and I'd rather not let the gossiping types see in.
Also this afternoon I had my heating man come round to figure what options I had to install a heat pump or similar. I prefer the idea of head units on the walls in that they don't need honking great ducts everywhere, but do find them a bit unsightly. I think I've got something loosely figured out that would put a unit in the attic on a space I can't use for much else anyway, then run ducting a short distance (the location is pretty central) to each room, and then figure a way to drop a big duct down to the basement so I can put more vents in the downstairs rooms. This thing might just work...
