Had been thinking about going for another walk in the woods. It would have been the third time this week, but we had a huge amount of rain last night and there's a high chance of rain and thunderstorms after noon today. I can get around the loop by noon, but if rain and thunderstorms arrive ahead of time I'd get soaked and, depending how early they arrive, I could be looking at descending quite a steep trail in a storm. I'd rather not plan to be doing that....
So instead I suspect I'm going to be breaking more of my house. I really want to lift some more insulation in the attic but I've done something to my knee that makes it hurt when I kneel on it, so that's going to have to wait. I'm not sure what I did to my knee, I think I may have strained it when mowing the yard trying to extract the mower from an awkward spot. It's weird, I can walk on it, climb stairs, hike rocky terrain at my usual speed, but if I kneel on it a certain way it hurts. Hopefully it will work itself out, if not I guess I'll see what the doctor has to say about it.
I'm hoping for some halfway decent weather before too long because I've got a growing pile of old wooden laths and bags of rubble to get rid of, and I'd like to borrow my friend's truck again to make a single trip to the landfill. Then I can also visit the hardware store to get some boards to fill the space over the room I'm working in. Next up is to decide whether to sand and refinish the floor, repairing a couple of damaged sections, or lift it and replace it. I'd prefer to retain it, partly because it's original flooring and partly because replacing it just adds another four figures to the cost.
