Got a little more woodworking done. Got the bottom edges for the sides of the bed cut to size and glued/screwed into place, and got the sides stained.

I also got to test out a very basc cyclone dust collection system, which means I can actually use the micro shop vac I thought I was going to have to dump and replace with something bigger.

Just got back from the gym. I took up jogging last week and can go about 20 minutes before I have to walk some.

Following a rabbit trail.

I was reading an article, and got slightly annoyed by the phrase "cut the mustard" (grrrrr...). So that led to a trail on the origin of "cut the muster" (i.e.making the cut, passing the test, etc.), which led to my perusing articles on 'BBC America' about differences between British and American idioms.

And now I'm here. :)

How does one cut mustard?

I'm thinking up food ideas and flavor ideas after putting together a food experiment that was less than impressive. Also because there are some food items I have in abundance that I have just not been using that I want to start.

Educating myself on cryptocurrencies. I should have done this ages ago.

Putting a list together for shopping tomorrow. I have some equipment to purchase for a simple alternative energy project.

Playing lots of piano.

How does one cut mustard?

Similar to how one cut's garlic in the sense meant. Eat a poorly combined meal that does not digest easily but contains lots of garlic. Wait a few hours. Cuttin the garlic happens when the results of poor digestion and coinciding anaerobic activity produce methane bubbles that rip into the atmosphere as the human who has them releases them for intestinal relief.

Garlic+poo smell is particularly nasty when combined and presented to a stranger's olfactory sense.

It's a mystery. The article was one on "Things The Royals Would Never Say". I think the author forgot one as that wasn't on the list.

Busy day today. One car to the garage for a repair (bill I didn't really need right now), then into town to get some new bedding, then furniture removals. One bed out of the guest bedroom and into the attic, our bed into the guest bedroom, cut a sheet of plywood into strips for our new frame and hauled it all into place.

Then cleaned up all the sawdust and put my feet up with a cold beer.

Yesterday I made a small hole in the dining room wall. This was more precision work than much of the wrecking because I'm going to have to look at the patch job for a while until I get to do the full renovation project in that room. Then had to scrape all the accumulated plaster from the bottom of the space (being a lath and plaster wall, much plaster fell through when it was being applied and set), and then ran a weighted string from the attic right down to the basement. Now I can use the string to pull the cables I need inside the wall to the attic.

Then I had some time to spare so pulled down another 40 square feet or so of plaster. It's right by a door I want to remove, so figured I'd do as much of the nasty dusty work as possible before taking the door out. So that made another 100-odd pounds of plaster to get rid of. I'm up to 15 bags of it now, so probably about 4-500 pounds.

7 cases of beer bottled, another 7 in the ferment units.

A few kilos of corned beef simmered and then roasted. Should last me weeks. Almost all my meals are vegan now, but I like to keep some already cooked and ready to eat meat frozen. I think that's a habit I'll eventually drop.

Speaking of food. I have too much of it. Most of it is in the form of dry grains and legumes that last for years....but still...I have too much. With all that, the frozen food I have and the food growing in my garden and in my kitchen - I think it's really time to tighten the grocery belt. With what I have plus some spouting experience and knowledge I think I could feed a family of 4 for probably 4 months or more.

It felt too nice to be inside today here too, but it was very warm so I decided to take a nap in my recliner instead.

I finished my very small scale biogas experiment today. It doesn't even have a fluid outlet. I just built it to see if I could produce biogas to burn. An old multi-litre water bottle, some tubing, an on/off valve, a T-intersection connected to the bottle plug, a bike inner tube and the connecting parts needed to use it as a gas collector. Cost me a little more than I expected but I'll likely use some of the more expensive parts on a larger version.
